I think the problem is they don’t train, so they have an opinion on it when they know stuff all. That seems to be the general consensus among untrained people.
I have told someone, they tried their best but it has been no use. Thats ok.
I’m trying out meditation and relaxation techniques as well, i have a few sessions soon i’m pretty sure with someone that teaches it.
Good idea
Yeah im thinking a couple of years ahead and getting overwhelmed. I’ll probably work on my cousins and uncles farm if i can. They said im allowed once i get my license.
Good ideas. Thankyou
That’s all i can do i guess.
I was hoping it would be fine, like its my room. This world is f*******, 30 years ago people would embrace a kid trying to join the gym and you’d learn from all the older strong experienced dudes who would take you under their wing. But now it’s “oh no its so dangerous you could hurt yourself no gym for you because you’re not 18.” Where do people think of this dumb shit. I mean most gyms you can join when you’re 13-14 and they don’t mind but some are dumb.
I’m looking forward to being an adult, i seriously can’t wait.
You’re right though… Thankyou.
Thanks man. Just got to keep going i guess.
Thanks SkyzykS. Oh and did the weights fall through the ceiling or just like crack it?
Yeah man, even at 23(an adult but not an adult/limbo) it’s not all it’s chalked up to be. Granted I’ve had adult responsibilities since I was 13, growing up gave me more freedom but there is always a cost(literally, shit is so expensive).
Just cracked it. Old houses with plaster walls and ceilings! Also, my first realization that the floor below you is the ceiling of the next floor down.
People always say “You can’t do this, you’re not an adult” that’s really all it is. I’ll be happier when i have more access to choices that are my own not what someone else dictates because im a child and have no say in it.
That’s true, atleast when i have my own house i can put weights in my room if i so desire.
Here is a stupid adult thing. I run a competitive riding stable. No rider under 16 years old can ride without an adult on site. Insurance want that, if an accident happen. Over night this rider will be able to ride alone.
Yep silly I have some kids that know a lot more then their mom or dad.
BJJ 2 hours
Probably the best session i’ve ever had, learned efficiently and had an awesome training partner.
Bit of rolling with the coach at the end and managed to almost armbar which is progress ( he goes easy on me but today a technique just clicked when gaining mount and yeah.) 'm going to bring a pen and a pad from now on so i can write techniques down and such.
yes and it is a pain. Because one person will sue you for a broken toe, insurance will place restriction so they will never pay in case of an accident.
Fun. no. My insurance did not cover me when I broke my leg, getting run over by a horse. Because I did not wear my crash helmet, I was not on the said horse, I was holding him on a leash going back to the barn.
This is why many caution you about being excited about adulthood. You just described about 100% of humanity. You tend to be shielded from it as a non-adult.
I watched a documentary on sugar and how companies like pepsi, mountain dew and so and so, pay scientists to fake their studies to claim that the excess sugar in the drinks isn’t bad for you just so people will continue buying. It’s definitely a messed up world.
Perhaps, or it may be exactly the world it needs to be but people would rather not believe it.
You’re essentially encountering the clash between Plato and Machiavelli on this. Idealism vs Realism. I found the world was much easier to navigate once I embraced the latter as an operating paradigm. It’s cynical and misanthropic to be sure, but predictable.
I know man, it’s bullshit. One of the best things you can have a teen do is take him into the weight room and smash some weights. Best time in your life for gains, it teaches respect and patience for the process, and if you are anything like me it’s a healthy way to let out some aggression and anger. Shit, they might even find a mentor or something from one of the older guys (especially back when powerlifting wasn’t popular and slinging some heavy weight with good form was something rarely seen).
It’s like the world these days doesn’t want boys to become men and then wonder why there’s so many young people depressed with anxiety and shit.
Then later on some tree climbing. Forgot how fun it was to just go out and climb a big tree with lots of branches, as a kid i was chubby and unfit so avoided physical things so this is the first time i’ve ever had that much fun in a tree. It was like Rock climbing except in a tree, forearms really sore especially since i was climbing upside down thick branches then pulling myself up and so forth. At one point i was hanging one arm off a branch and felt like i could have hung forever.
At home for the long weekend so i plan on doing some conditioning and grip work tomorrow or sunday.
Well i’m at home so i hope none of the supervisors followed me here and are hiding in the paddock, waiting to tell me off the moment i do something that they don’t allow
