Rise Of The Slaya 2019- Next Strongman Comp prep and fixing my hip

Great job Duke.

Thanks man. 150kg in the coming weeks. That’s a +30kg gain in 8 weeks! I’m definitely hitting 180kg this year

What else have you been doing besides the coaching? Some mad gains over the past couple of months.

Awesome work legend

What I have done the last 2 months:

1-2 Sauna/Spa/ Swim sessions a week, Trying to sleep more (Fail most of the time lol), Realising my own potential and not being scared of heavier weights, doing exactly what coach says, working on mobility, also never missing a meal. I also have figured out I have amazing genetics and refuse to set limits, I just have to work hard and I will get incredibly strong!

Thanks mort

I have a question guys. if I’m about to puke do I keep going or stop? I dont want to puke all over the gym floor but then again I dont want to cut a set short, yesterday on my final set of farmers/Yoke i had to drop farmers with 5 meters left ( I started throwing up in my mouth then swallowed it) if I kept going I would have thrown up everywhere. If I need to throw up I usually can hold it and go throw up in the toilets, but sometimes I have to cap a set short because if I dont il puke everywhere.

I wouldn’t think you throwing up in the gym would be appreciated by other members. If it was a one off thing, as long as you cleaned it up it would be OK, but not if you did it every session.
When I was younger I used to throw up pretty much every squat session, but I always thew up after the set finished, and usually because I was breathing so heavy it made me wretch. I always managed to either go out the fire door and puke in the garden bed or eventually the gym owner gave me my own bucket !!

That’s a fuckin crazy front squat PR. You’re absolutely smashing it right now duke!!

In a gym that isn’t your own: you stop

  1. Go to the bathroom and throw up

  2. Continue with the session

Il definitely have to get a bucket

That’s what I thought, I dont want to throw up everywhere lol

The issue is midway through sometimes if I keep going il just puke everywhere, I think il just have a bucket close by

Stop when you stop. Also maybe ask your coach if it’s normal. I rarely feel sick when training, but some people I know often do.

It’s usually high rep push presses, heavy front squats or any sort of strongman event like sandbag carry which makes me puke.
