Yoke and stones tomorrow then a week of stuffing my face and doing fuck all. Will probably do some single or triples etc for the deload with 60-70% and light pumpy accessories. No strongman stuff either like yoke, stones, Farmers etc.

This might be the key to actually progressing on Deep Water! If the program doesn’t call for it…leave it out. I’m sure you will come back to the implements MUCH stronger than you are right now.
On saturday i do yoke and stones as my conditioning day lol. Thursday i ditched clean pulls for farmers carry. 10×10 power cleans in the intermediate so no farmers or frame for this guy lol. I’ll probably alternate yoke and stones on saturday with farmer and prowler etc.
Implements are very technique based like stones and log etc so time away especially since i still have alot to work on isnt that beneficial (Comp like 2 months away as well…) Also ive found yoke goes up by doing yoke. Yoke improving by doing yoke tends to be how it is for alot of people.

Well its broken my will already, i couldn’t stick to the diet lol. I will say though that i dont agree with not doing clean pulls “getting beat by the program.” The clean pulls arent that important anyway Its like skipping pullups. The money work is the 10×10

It’s very much about getting outside your comfort zone, which the program asks you to do ALL the time. It’s 18 solid weeks of never feeling comfortable, which is a lot to ask.
False. You think the technique for clean pulls won’t be useful for actual cleans (a more difficult movement)? You think leaning to pull explosively isn’t necessary for continental cleans? Or log cleans before the press?
You will either learn to do cleans and clean pulls or you will struggle with some of your strongman events (bag over bar, keg toss, etc). There’s no getting around it.
