You could work on your walk out on squats.
Brace and lift the bar straight up.
Step one step right back with one foot, then place the second step were you want it, now move the first foot a bit to the side so your stance is correct.
No need to walk backwards a mile before setting up.
Learning to walkout was a big game changer to me. Another thing you can try, is lift off explosively. Something about that makes my mind think it’s lightweight, just mental tricks.
I’m not sure where I saw it (maybe a Westside Barbell video) but the lift off and walkout should only take three steps. I try to practice that when I squat. I’m sure it’ll be useful if I ever squat big weights.
Well there are so many things to remember to do, you can’t learn them all at once.
This is a very easy one to do. Check some videos Brian talks about it as well, but there are tons of videos.
One step right back, second step place it were it should be when you squat, third step is the first foot to be placed where you want it when you squat. @strongmanbrett had another one, it’s part of the walkout.
Get under the bar, grab it, dig the shoulders in, brace and get tight, and stand up strong and fast, you don’t have to jump to do that.
Think about when you pick up that loaded yoke. Do you want to take a bunch of unnecessary steps and waste your energy? Absolutely not! One of these days you’ll have 400-500 lbs on your back and you won’t want to move any more than you have to. There’s a reason people use a monolift (although I’ve actually never seen one in real life).
I’m never done an eating challenge but i reckon i could easily get this done. I ate a 2kg lasagne the other day for dinner without much trouble so id smash this out
Nah. I would just for the sake of stuffing myself with good food but I’d be shit at them because I have neither speed or endurance.
I ate 500g of properly cooked ribeye in one sitting the other day because it’s tender and juicy but rump is easier to turn into a bland block of rubber.
I’d train for this just like anything else lol. Google it and you’ll probably get tips on speed eating steak specifically and also on making yourself not feel full like drinking water to get your stomach used to big volumes.
