I’m not very good at puns, but for once i spotted an opportunity haha

Haven’t listened to Mahler, but mainly Tchaikovsky and Mozart. Beethoven is good too I just don’t have many of his songs on my phone.

I personally like to calm down by listening to Tchaikovsky and Mozart, or if I’m not feeling those I’ll listen to some of The Notorious B.I.G’s more laid back songs. Personally I like: Big Poppa, Who Shot Ya, Notorious Thugs, or One More Chance/Stay With Me. There are plenty of others to listen to but those are by far my favorite.

Nice I’ll check those out. I havent listened to The Notorious B.I.G but im a big fan of Tupac

I’ve been MIA from your log for like…months lol. How’s it going bud?

Keeping your ego in check and your shoulders from shrugging goes a long way. Even if you are doing upright rows picture them as lateral raises in a sense; you are not actually rowing anything

You could start with a basic lateral raise and then from set to set work it into more of an upright row.

If you haven’t already you shoukd try listening to:

  • Tchaikovsky 6 ‘Pathetique’
  • Tchaikovsky’s 12 seasons
  • Mozart 41 in C movement 4, ‘Jupiter’

Also, some other composers you might enjoy (I sure as hell do)

  • Brahms (particularly symphony 4 and whichever one was in F)
  • Mahler 5 and 9 or any of the others
  • Shostakovich Violin Concerto in Am movement 1 (I think it’s Larghetto) and String Quartet 6 in Cm
  • Ravel’s String Quartet in F, particularly movement 2
  • Any of Chopin’s piano etudes or nocturnes
  • Dvorak: New World Symphony
  • Debussy: Gardens in the rain

That should be a solid 17 hours of music…

Single arm DB upright rows and V-handle cable upright rows are very shoulder friendly. Also wide grip BB uprights shouldn’t bother your shoulders too much. Close grip BB uprights are what kills your joints

Thanks simo!

yeah i can understand why close grip would fuck your shoulders

Curious, is this due to the lack of internal rotation?

Yeah, for the wide BB and single arm DB variations. The V-handle cable variation has nearly as much internal rotation as a closer grip BB row, but it puts your wrist into a much more comfortable position and, as it is a cable exercise, it’s just “gentler” overall. (Part of that comes just from you treating it more like an assistance exercise; you won’t be so tempted to go crazy heavy)

Hyped for next weekend. Static monsters worldwide is going to be hosted at my gym

Was wondering where you went! And Pretty good. Training for my first strongman comp in april next year and focusing on school. How about you?

Meh. Work and school. Usual stuff. Haven’t signed up for anything. Still.

I was going to become registered for the powerlifting team at my University, but there was only like 7 people who signed up and attended the meeting. Me included. We need at least somewhere around 15-25 people to compete and different weight classes, So I’m just going to wait until more people sign up.

Other than that, not much.

What if there are 20 people thinking the exact same thing? You’ll never have a team! Just sign up. Maybe it’ll help get more people to commit.
