Rise Of The Slaya 2019- Next Strongman Comp prep and fixing my hip

There’s your problem. Hammer the triceps and your bench will grow.

Don’t worry. This doesn’t go away when you don’t tap into reserved anger. :joy:

You wanna be strategic in a competition. Know what your weaknesses are, and know what you need to do in competition. If I don’t need to tap into that anger, I won’t. You don’t need it for every event; only when it matters. It’s only going to work for certain events too. Being super pissed off for a 90 second medley will do jack. Same with a very reppy event, because you’ll burn out halfway through. But a max weight deadlift or stone series? Time to get mad. And then you need to learn how to shut it off ASAP, because the longer you stay mad, the more exhausted you get.

Regarding the early morning training: I do it primarily because it gives me time with my family in the evening, but it’s certainly a benefit. I see people get all out of sorts because they’re used to sleeping in and training in the afternoon.

It must fry your Cns a shittonne…

:joy:

Time to hammer some triceps

Alright

Yeah i don’t want to burn out and just be standing there like a dumbo when everyone else is still going

Its really hard for me to switch off, it’s like theres an on button only. I need to find some sort of way to calm down. Controllimg my breathing helps a bit

Ohhh

I tell a lot of jokes. The trick is to be calm before the anger and return back to calm. If you start out pissed off, you won’t have a stable point to return to.

Watch @Alpha 's training videos. He’s joking around the whole time, and when it’s his time to hit the lift, he transforms, and then he comes right back. It takes practice, but it’s a good skill.

I’ve watched his videos but I’ve never taken notice of that up until now. Im determined to get the hang of that now

I’d definitely second @T3hPwnisher with finding a stable place beforehand. For me my music is my switch. I’ll play anything along the lines of classic music or something very mellow and happy, but when it’s time to turn on that switch, the music usually goes to something that has a great emotional value or is very angry, then as soon as I’m done with that set, I switch it right back over to something very relaxing.

Tchaikovsky? Mozart? Beethoven? Mahler?

Details, man

I hate training without metal lol. Got any songs/artists you would recommend for relaxing?

Todays training
@danteism i tried doing bodybuilding stuff for shoulders and i couldnt bring myself to do it. I did one set of lateral raises and i put the dumbells away lol. Typical type 1 for you.

Z press
3×8 with just the bar @losthog :joy::joy: really easy and did reps at lightspeed but starting off light to not fall over.
superset 3×5 pendlay rows 60kg

Single arm standing db presses
4×8
15kg

Cable rows 4×8

Left lol. Need to plan thursdays better or motivate myself. I just really hate it for some reason. I didnt do the training i was supposed to do.

Try bigger movements; instead of side laterals opt for something like an upright row (either barbell, dumbbell or cable) get a bit of body english there but don’t lose the mmc.
