Great man and with his dad really made the NFL what it is today.
When I thought about people who are able to follow their passion and do what they love, he always came to mind.
Yep. Couldn’t agree more
The NFL lost a good man today.
RIP
I cried when I heard.
RIP.

So true.
This dude loooved football.
I remember watching NFL films when Id come home from school in the winter. Loved that show
NFL films were even better than the actual games. Sabol knew how to tell a story with awesome footage, slow motion and great music. Made me love football even more. RIP Steve Sabol.
His son, Casey Sabol (yes it’s the same Sabol), is quite a great singer and musician.
He sings and plays all of the instruments in this song. Also, check out his other song “Remember”
I know you guys may not be into that sort of music, but the kid is talented. He had a brief stint with a popular heavy metal band Periphery, but is now producing pop music in Hollywood.
NFL Films was the shit. Fully agree with whoever said they are better than the actual games. They made football games seem like wars where the fate of the universe was at stake. Also, the guy who narrates them is amazing. That voice sticks out in my memories from childhood about as loudly as those of my own parents.
Like others my age group Steve Sabol and his father are probably the reason I love football so much.
I have been playing hockey since I was three(it’s a Canadian law) and I dig it but not near as much as football. Saturday afternoons at 2:00pm was when I watched most of the NFL films stuff. The music, the players, John Fasenda, the great footage captured my imagination like no other sport.
I just hope he left NFL films in good hands.
R.I.P. Mr.Sabol
