Is this the best class ever for the NFL Hall of Fame?? Rice and Smith…all time leaders in rushing and recieving, going in The Hall in the same class. Epic. Is this class of inductees the best of all time??
Great question. Havent looked back on some of the older ones. Who did Walter Peyton go in with?

Bill Walsh, CHuck Noll, Larry Little, and Dan Fouts
04 Elway and Barry Sanders
that’s a tough one
'71 with Jim Brown and Vince Lombardi seems to be up there in ‘legendary’ status. Football purists will probably forever remember both of them as ‘greatest ever’ for their respective duties(obviously a debatable topic =p).
This class isn’t just Rice/Smith though. John Randall is right up there as possibly the best DT to ever play the game(he certainly reinvented the position as a viable pass rush option), and Dick Labeau might be the most famous not-head-coach to ever roam the sidelines(invented the Zone Blitz).
Also, what is up with Chris Carter missing out AGAIN? I always thought he was a for sure 1st ballot HoF player, as easily the 2nd best receiver ever behind Jesus in Cleats(Rice).

Red, you make a great point with Lombardi and Brown, great point! They are certainly in the discussion of the greatest of all-time at what they did. Like Elway and Payton, and Rice and Smith. Clearly great. But Randall? Randall was a fine DT and had a few great years, but it is a stretch to include him in the catagory of one of the all-time greats. Just off the top of my head I can think of Reggie White, Randy White and Mean Joe Greene, who were all better DTs and those are just the DTs with last names that are basic colors who are better than Randall. there are too many DTs that have had careers far superior to Randall’s to include him in any talk involving the G.O.A.T. Derserving of H.O.F.? …yes. Does he boost this class as the best class of all-time?..yes. One of the greatest of all-time? No. But a great player indeed.

x2. Chris Carter had so many PHENOMENAL catches, way more than Rice. Rice was obviously a better receiver but Carter had so many unreal catches.
Edit - and for some reason there are no real good Carter highlight videos on youtube.
I think that video is spot on. He had the best hands, and that allowed him to thusly make the best boundary catches(because he could catch the ball in that awkward position that is leaning forward on your toes and picking the ball as it comes past).
Rice was just the smartest receiver ever. His route running was so crisp, and he knew where to be on the field when it came to zone read style routes and scramble drills. Him and Steve Young made magic on the football field that I will never forget(I was a HUUUUUUUUGE 9ers fan as a kid). He was also huge for a receiver by the standards of when he played, and is probably the reason that guys like Calvin Johnson exist in the modern game.
Finally…a good thread.
John Randle Videos! NOW!
If you dont watch this video…consequences will never be the same.

G.O.A.T. in terms of trash talking. Has to be.

Russ Grimm! He used to chew copenhagen while he played.
In the meantime I’ll just keep doing deadlifts
how come kenny stabler isnt in the hall of fame. guy won so many of the leagues most exciting games. better numbers than griese, nameth and a few others. all he did was win…
i think some of the old dick head voters wont vote him in cause his off field partying…
such a shame
Great Randle video!! Thanks for that. That stuff got me fired-up for todays workout.
'06 : Aikman, Moon, Madden, Reggie White (while LT changed the game, White is GOAT)
