Appears to be eye-witness accounts AND forensic evidence to support the cop’s version of events. If so, not only is he NOT a bad cop with an itchy trigger finger, but I would say he is a DAMN GOOD cop who physically fought off two men,one of whom was 6’4" and 296 pounds and was going for his gun. He then stopped further aggression with a fractured eye socket.
I would like to point out that if his version is true and Brown had gotten his gun, then the cop would likely be dead and the “gentle giant” would likely have switched tactics from strong-arm robbery to ARMED robbery. So it could be that this cop actually protected the good citizens of Ferguson from a potential armed robber.

Well, but that’s the thing. Their initial reactions are directly responsible for a very, very large chunk of the current mess. If they had been able to handle it better the protests, in my opinion, would likely not have escalated near this far. At least not this fast.

Everybody knows that the police are always the bad guy! Yep, it’s never the ridiculous laws that the rest of the public and their elected representatives want enforced. Nope, whatever happens is the fault of the middle-man.
It’s kind of like when you order fried chicken, the waiter brings fried chicken, and you get mad because he didn’t bring you a hamburger. What do you do in that situation? Blame the waiter…right?

On (or about) the same day as this shooting, a Rabbi walking to shul was murdered by two black guys. Numerous swastikas had been painted on the shul in recent times.

Doesn’t fit a narrative that will get people all hot and bothered like a confrontation or incident between a white cop and a black man. Generally any group that basically “has it good” can’t call out any violence against them and expect to get any coverage or sympathy. The media usually doesn’t mention race unless a black person is the victim. In the USA at least. I did a search of Joseph Raksin and went to some major papers and didn’t see any mention of race. The only place I saw race mentioned was in a small Huffpost article of all places.
It’s a shame we can’t have frank, honest, and logical conversations concerning race in the USA. Hell you can’t even say you’d like to see an investigation completed before forming an opinion without being branded a racist in cases like these. It would be an interesting study if someone took the time to comb through a major newspaper or two to check if and when race is identified for the perpetrators of violent crime.
I’m being patient and waiting for the investigation to be completed. One thing I can comment on now is pointing out yet another example of shameful media coverage fanning the flames of negative race relations. The damage is already done. No matter what new facts come out it won’t matter for the majority of our lazy populace.
Both the officer and the departed deserve a comprehensive investigation so the truth becomes clear (at least for those actually looking for truth). This presumably should be much easier than what happened between Zimmerman and Martin given the circumstances surrounding each incident.
Many patrol cops are bullies and overly aggressive (“many” is intentionally vague). But no way in hell would I ever think to do anything but follow an officers explicit orders. Right now I’m thinking Brown was an aggressive individual who was so hardheaded he thought he could attack a cop and disobey orders without repercussion. I will wait before being definitive with that opinion but that’s my read of things based on what I’ve seen.
I have two unrelated and random points I want to bring up.
First is that I can’t understand the impatience of those wanting this officer to be arrested. It’s bullshit to think this officer doesn’t deserve a full investigation before his arrest. Like justice should only be served to certain groups of people. Like our legal system should just be shunned because a bunch of loosely organized mobs are wreaking havoc in a small city.
More importantly, if you are really convinced this was a cold blooded execution and this officer should be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and if you have a modicum of sense, you would want additional time before his arrest so the prosecution team could formulate their best case possible. But of course it’s better to just proclaim it’s injustice that he isn’t arrested already (which the media will happily cover) and to further fan the ever-deteriorating race relations in the USA.
My second point is that Russia, Iran, and China are all happily using this incident and the resulting unrest in Ferguson as propaganda. Basically to point the finger to the USA and call us human rights abusers and hypocrites. Of course none of these countries give a flying fuck about black residents in Ferguson, MO but they are obviously giddy about the negative press. I don’t really have a point to make, I just found this interesting.

In seriousness, for whatever reason there is an axis of radical blacks, the IRA (really), various Muslim terrorist groups (Hamas, ISIS, the PLO, whatever it is at the time), and the usual crappy countries (North Korea, Iran, whatever) that celebrate this kind of thing and blame Jews for basically everything.
There used to even be a linkage between the PLO and the Hispanic Supremacist Group La Raza – seriously, go Google for a picture of Yasser Arafat and La Raza.

I think now that they have had a chance to look at the evidence, they see that this was not an innocent killing as previously claimed.
