Right Foot, Left Foot

Good stuff Dday! It seems like a lot of people in here have a home set up, man that must be nice.
Thank you sir. It’s awesome having a home gym, I can crank the radio, scream, yell fart what ever I want to do.

Are those those selectorised DB thingies I used to see in the magazines? They always looked like a good idea in theory, how well do they work in reality?

And I hope that DB against the wall by the pipe is for your ab rollouts not your one arm rows!! LOL
Haha, those little DB’s are for my wife, I don’t really even know where most of them came from.

The other db’s are powerblock U90’s. They’re pretty good, 5lb-90lbs per expandable to 120 or 130 can’t remember. They’re just like regular db’s for about 95% of all lifts. I’ve had them almost a year now and am very happy, they’re sturdy enough and easy to use but take some getting use to. They have a bit of a fat grip which is nice but all my lifts seemed to go down at first. The down sides are you cannot drop them and the handle is a “cage”. They are very easy to change weights and it can be done in seconds. If you can find them on sale they’re certainly worth it.

Not my best day of lifting. Had to work at 11p-1am last night and then my son woke me up at 7am. Went for a walk/half ass run around 8:30. My ankles were hurting pretty good, been doing a lot of ankle mobility work the last few days and I’m guessing that’s what was causing the discomfort.
Anyway diet was fine, technically missed a meal because of the odd hours. Ran out of fish, grossly underestimated what I needed when I went to the store but now I know. Enough with the bitching.
Something I figured out today that I thought was funny, I always refer to by gym as Don’s Bunk Ass Gym, realized this morning the acronym is D-BAG…fitting.

Hi you’re log title totally got my attention
Although I’ve never had chicken and waffles. IHOP has it as a new thing and I’m going tomorrow, but I assume that it’s not the real deal, so I won’t have it.
I heard there’s a great chicken and waffles place in Cali.

Anyway, numbers are strong. I’ll follow. Plus I love to see other guys dieting, I don’t feel so alone.

Was all that sushi a cheat meal?

I believe the one is Cali is Rosco’s chicken and waffles, Snoop Dogg went there a few times on the show he had a few years ago. I got the log name from the IHOP commercial, it was on when I made this thread.
Thank you for the complement, I hope to keep my numbers and lose some lbs.
The sushi was absolutely a cheat meal, an unscheduled one. Scheduled cheat meals are supposed to be a weekend night so I can go to dinner with my family.

weight this morning 237.4

4-7-11
total: 3,123
fat: 138.0
Carbs: 87.0
Protein: 379.0

yesterdays calories
total: 2,904

Having a hard time getting to 3660 calories. Pretty sure the only day I made it was the sushi day, however I have no way to calculate those calories.

Nice looking gym. I envy people who have space for that (I rent apartment). Seems like everyone puts a punching bag in their place, do you use it much?

Thank you, love the basement gym.
I did use the bag a lot. If you notice the pool table and treadmill behind the bag, there is a little room about 5-6ft deep, that’s where the bag was and I hit the shit out of it. When I got the power rack I moved the pool table where it is now and had to move the bag to where it is now. The problem is that with the bag there when I hit it the entire house shakes and my wife doesn’t like it. I do like hitting it and once I can get rid of the pool table I’ll move the bag back and wear that sucker out.

Wow it is Rosco’s. Okay, if it’s this well-known, I gotta go.
That’s sweet about the scheduled cheat meals. Are you still going to cheat this weekend despite the unscheduled sushi?

I think Rosco’s is in Compton…let me know how it is cause I ain’t going.
I’m not going to cheat this weekend because of the sushi, I’ve got a schedule to keep and cheating too much isn’t going to work.

HA HA, awesome (re roscoes). Good work on the MPs dude.

I would love to have a basement gym, has to warmer in the winter than my garage gym. Great work DDay, I am dieting also so I feel your pain.

Thanks Matty.

DJHT- In Texas basements are pretty rare aren’t they? Around here in tornado alley pretty much everyone has a basement. Mine stays pretty cool year round, low 70’s sometimes when the ground is frozen it’s flat cold.

Damn I’m sore today. Yesterday went for a walk/run around the subdivision, 3.32 miles actually ran about 1.5 miles (down hill). Mentally it’s easier to run outside but physically it’s easier on the treadmill.
Diet was on yesterday, didn’t calculate the numbers but I ate when and what I was supposed to.
Today play 20 holes, can’t walk this course but I did plenty of walking. Did have a turkey sandwich and peanuts for lunch, it was that or really nothing, haven’t found a portable meal to take golfing. Guess I could take RTD shakes, usually those are high carbs.
Ready to lift this week, I’m on call for work which always seems to in some way impact my schedule, we’ll see.

Squat
135x5
185x5
225x5

working
265x5
265x5
300x3
335x3

Curls
4x15-20

Prowler pushes
90ish yards x6
2 sets w/90lbs
2 sets w/140lbs
2 sets w/230lbs

80lb sand bag carry 90ish yards
2 sets bag on one shoulder then switch
1 set bag on neck walking lunges
2 set on neck just walking

Legs are trashed but it was good. Changing how I squat to more high bar style, seems more balanced and I can get lower, still need more work before I switch completely. Once I get it down I think I’ll like the results.

Note the kid on the bike in the back ground, he wanted to race, smoked him on the down, he cheated and turned around early so he won the way back.

Fun times! I need to look into getting a prowler

x2…I have to usually go to my buddies gym to do some prowler work, Nice numbers on the squats bro.

dday, just finished reading through your log. Will be interested how you quest to lose some weight goes. Doctor recommended I lose some weight to reduce stress on knees. I’ll be looking to you for some tips.

You make prowler work look easy!

soldog- I got the prowler last summer for some clients I was training then quit training and didn’t use it nearly enough, this year I’m gonna wear the skids off it.

Matty- Thanks, working hard to get more depth on my squat, the working sets I do to a bench so they’re a little high. Hopefully I’ll get the high bar squat form nailed and reach similar numbers to depth.

Chi-Town- Thanks for reading through. We’ll find out together how to lose weight. I failed last year when I tried to drop lbs this time will be better.

Caviler- It was a illusion, that stuff was tough. This was about the 3-4th pass with that thing. The worst part is that tar on the road, it will catch on the skid and spin or stop the prowler altogether.
