Thank you sir, gotta try to stay upbeat as much as best I can.

Nice!

Your squats look much improved.

and your shoulder seems to be on the mend too if you can overhead press.[/quote]

Thanks FB, I’m working hard on them.

It’s getting better, doesn’t hurt for no reason anymore and as long as I play by certain rules I can OHP (not real heavy and don’t bring the bar below my chin). Bench is still not happening.

Really wanted to lift tonight, just really in the mood. For what ever reason I couldn’t find the groove on the deads, hips kept coming up before my shoulders. The weight moved pretty easy but my form was just off. Pulled 405 relatively easy but form was so bad I stopped.
Not a bad session not a particularly good one either, just run of the mill.

Thanks dog. I do need to get another ortho appointment set up, I’ve canceled one and missed the other, wonder if they’ll still take me.

nice work- squats do look improved.

another good session tonight - nice work
and hang tough

The important thing is that you trained. Good for you on keeping the ego in check and paying attention to your form.

james

nice squatin. Its inspiring to me that you have really kept up with lifting when its such an easy time for you to say fuck it. It doesn’t matter.

kmc- Squats are getting there. Really need to get my core strength up, think it’s holding me back from getting to real weight.

James- As mentioned a long time ago, I have scoliosis so being mindful of my back is a priority. I’ve jacked my back several times when letting my ego get in the way.

DJS- Training is my escape from life, it keeps me right in the head. The wife and I are carring on with life, she’s not in any pain and if you looked at her you wouldn’t know anything was wrong.Trying to stay normal is our priority right now.

Thanks everyone for reading and your comments.

Shoulder felt pretty decent tonight, thought I’d push it weight wise. Been some time since I moved decent weight, still well below previous max but good. 155 was a pretty good strain but everything felt good.

You ever get tired of the shoulder pain Dday, sometimes I when I am tired from work etc., I just want to pain to stop, it gets old.

YES!!! Mine doesn’t normally just hurt for no reason but is annoying. My main gripe is not being able to bench or even do a push up.

Every evening mine hurts, I have had chronic pain for years so I am used to it. Still gets fucking old though.

Nice work. Glad to hear that the shoulder was cooperating. Anymore, I feel like something is wrong when mine isn’t, at least, nagging.

Are you doing any rehab for it?. I followed the Diesel Crew shoulder rehab programme, I can highly recommend it. I went from not being able to do a single press up (11th May) and now I’m closing in on a bench PR. You just have to be patient it will come back. I did have to stop all upper body work though, it didn’t get any better while I was working round it.

I hate shoulder pain…well I hate squats more but shoulder pain sucks…besides Brett recommendation, I had a the same type of problem: of no bench, no presses, not even curls and worked through a bunch of Cressey stuff and ya know that easy Dan John program that is sweeping the nation? I am doing inclines 2 or 3 times a week with no issues…

DJ- This shoulder is the first real injury I’ve had and it sucks! Almost as bad as when I cut my ring finger from the tip to the knuckle, couldn’t lift anything for almost a month.

Strick- Thank you. Pretty happy with the OHP all things considered. Shoulder injuries seem to be very common around here.

Brett- I’m doing band pull aparts, roll a ball around the area, broom stick drills and tons of face pulls. I’ve seen the diesel crew stuff and done it a few times, just never think to add those in. Need to write myself a note to remember to do those.

OG- it’s so weird that I can military press with little to no pain but bench press, even the bar, kills!! When it first happened I could not do any pressing and no arm work, sounds like we both had the same injury.

Those are fine milies for a guy with shoulder issues.

Starting tonight I’m going back to 5/3/1 -bench. My squats have progressed to the point where I’m confident that I can do them properly with decent weight. Shoulder is playing nice enough I can military press and it’s just time to move from triples.

Something like this:

Monday:
Squats
Good mornings/GHR
abs

Tuesday:
Military press
Shrugs
Pull ups

Wednesday:
GPP

Thursday:
Deads
Vbar row
abs

Friday: (bench place holder)
Arms
and other short comings

Will also add face pulls after most every session.

Conditioning: AM fasted cardio, walk sprint etc.

Still trying to get to that magic 200lbs still sitting around 226-229 depends on the day. Diets been pretty rough lately but it’s time to clean it up again and get back to that awesome 1900 calories.

Suggestions, comments, point and mock what ever.
