Right Foot, Left Foot

Thank you everyone, your thoughts mean more than you know.

We’re all doing a lot better today than yesterday, things have settled in and no longer stressing. Her MRI got canceled by mistake yesterday and had to be rescheduled for Friday so another day of waiting.

On a training note, went out this morning got in a 2.5 mile walk. Really just wanted to get away and wasn’t interested in much more.

Added some carbs to my diet:
breakfast 1/3 cup of Oatmeal
Lunch added 1 cup of white rice (all I had)

No carbs after lunch. Tomorrow I’ll likely add some more into my snacks.

Good job at getting out for a walk!

horrible news.
we got your back - e- support is a good thing.

dont hold back and let us know how we can help

DDay- Sorry for your situation, we will be thinking and praying for your wife’s speedy and 100% recovery.

Damn brother, I will keep your wife and family in my prayers…I can tell your a good man, and I truly belive you guys will get through this. Im gonna light a candle for you guys, and keep you in my mind. Hang in there, and if possible please give updates.

sorry to hear of this dday - take care of yourself so that you can take care of your family, I learned that the hard way.

You have my deepest sympathies.

From what I’ve seen and read, you are a very supportive and positive person. That is exactly the type of person that will get your wife through this with flying colors. Stay strong for her by staying strong yourself.

dday, sorry about your news. A lot of us have losses to this insidious disease. Take care of your family by taking care of yourself. I’ll keep you & yours in my thoughts.

You guys are amazing! Thank you so much!

Haven’t lifted this week, but I am itching to get back after it. Shoulder is feeling better over all so I’m going to slowly add pressing back in next week. To test the water will do both bench and military the same day since I won’t be going heavy anyway. Ready to get back to normal lifting, not some modified working around for X problem.

Been bitching about how hard it is to find jeans in my size 38x34, every where has 38x30 or x32. So last night we wanted out of the house and ran to Kohls who also had no 38x34. They had a 36x34(one freaking pair) so for S&G’s I tried them one and I’ll be damn’d if they didn’t fit. If I didn’t have such excellent child bearing hips might has squeezed into a 34x34. This is big deal to me, haven’t worn a 36 since HS.

Also yesterday I went to work to fill out some paper work to cover my ass with all the potential days I’m going to be missing in the future. While there I got my boss to commit to sending me to a Cisco training class I’ve been itching to go to for months. One week course that equals a nice certificate. Come review time with this cert I should go from an engineer I to a II and more $$. Even more importantly if something were to happen with my job it will be easier to get another with CCNA at the end of my name.

Sorry about the ramble digging for positive news. Thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers, you guys and this site have changed my life in more ways than you’ll ever know. Once we have more information I will certainly share it.

Don

D, sorry to hear about the wife. I’ll add to the sentiment that if you need a place to vent, we’re all here.

Fitting into smaller pants is an awesome feeling.

Sorry for being late to this.
That is tough news. I will definitely keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Keep yourself sane and the wife in good spirits. Attitude/outlook can’t solve all the world’s problems, but its impact is amazing.

Good work getting down a pant size. I am nearly ready to get into the 36’s myself, but of course I have the shorter inseam (30). CCNA is a great thing to have at the end of your name as well, keep planning to complete it myself, hopefully next year.

Your family will be in our prayers.

Time for a fight.

If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong

Shit DDay sorry to hear it. We’ll keep you in our thoughts.

Patch, Strick, JLO and Joe- Thank you guys so much. We?re gonna be just fine, I’ve got faith in her.

Pete- You?re in the IT business too? What do you do? Been after that CCNA for a few years now on my own but the books are so hard to read. The information isn?t that hard to follow it?s just really dry, can?t handle more than one chapter a day if that. I?m doing the 1 week boot camp, supposed to be hard but they guarantee you pass.

On the telecom side. Right now working on migration/upgrade of ICM/UCCE/Cisco Emergency Responder, etc etc as Project Manager.

Very cool. I was a telecom guy for 14 years prior to switching over to a router/switch/fiber guy.

Smart move. I tumbled into telco about 12 years ago with a CLEC start up. Worked both from the CO side and CPE side. Now I am a mercenary (consultant) for the moment…

Pretty much same for me. Started out as a cable puller for CPE company, then went to work with MCI in a CO, then a start up CLEC for 10 years and now with a cable company(beep beep). We maintain their core network stuff, all big Cisco and Juniper gear. It’s big step for me but I work with some very talented guys who hide my ignorance.

Fortunately I have mostly kept myself in management or project management, so I really don’t need to know too much, ha ha. That being said I would feel a lot more secure with that CCNA after my name.
