Right Foot, Left Foot

bench looked good,

does he want to do what you do when you train?

little guy here is 15 months and if I do anything at home he

glad you are safe, this tornado business is crazy[/quote]

Thanks.
Mine just turn 2. He’s a wild man in the gym, always wants to dealift db’s. His favorite game is picking up these 3lb dbs my wife has and walking around with them out in front of him like Frankenstien. Freaks me out a little, I just know he’s going to drop that on his foot. He also loves to spin the 45’s on the plate holders like a steering wheel. Hopefully we both have future lifters, they do learn by watching.

Sounds darling! You’ll have to post vids, of course.

Glad that you’re OK with the tornados. I’m so far away from them that it’s to forget that they are real. That is to say we see it on the news but have no concept of them really.

Solid benching. Awesome that your son is there with you but yeah, I can imagine that dropping a plate on his foot would be traumatic to say the least!

james

Cavalier I have a video of him running around the gym, will try to post tomorrow.

James- I’ve never seen a serious tornado or it’s aftermath first hand, thankfully, but have seen a few small ones come down. Even the small ones are amazing and can be devastating.

Tonight:

Foam rolled

Single leg deadlifts

Deadlifts
135x5
185x5
225x5
290x5
335x5
380x5

V bar pull downs
4x10-12

Preacher curls
4x10-12

Tweeked my back again! *%&#@$!!! I thought it was 100%, guess it must have been closer to 80%. Now I get to limp around for the next week, good times.
Starting to realize why Cisco has stopped production on the flip cameras, they turn off for no reason. Video’d my last set of deads then went back to watch it, damn camera stopped right as I grabbed the bar. Frustrating. I just got a new cell phone that has easy upload to youtube so from now on that’s going to be my camera, suck it flip!

Back in Boy Scouts, we visited a town in Ohio to help clean up tornado damage. Goodbye housed, hello fields of matchsticks. Creepy.

That sucks man, heal up! I still like my flip, basically because im hella dumb and you cant really not know how to use the flip

Sucks about the back. I can relate.
You mention limping around. Is it because you get nerve pain down your leg?

Matty- Agree it’s super easy to use which is why I like it too. Can’t understand why it’s suddenly acting up, it did the same thing tonight. Totally spaced off using the new phone and tried the flip which shut off once I grabbed the bar.

giterdone- No nerve pain, it almost felt like a super strained either QL or iliopsoas. It’s much better today, as sore as it was last night I had my doubts. I believe it stems from poor activation of the hamstring in my right leg. It would seem the QL or IP is trying to do the job of the hamstring. Not sure I’m right but this seems to be the issue.

shoulders

different shoulder warm up drills

Military press

45x5
85x5
95x5
115x5
135x5
145x5 +2 push presses

95x3x10

Face pulls
4x12

shrugs
135x4x20 stayed light to spare my back

JM press
115x4x12

abs

Over all pretty good. As stated above, back is better but really minimized the strain.

Good job dday, considering the ganked up back…I think I gotta get in on these JM presses.

Thanks Matty.

Carb’d up yesterday and had my cheat me, baby back ribs with bbq baked beans and fries. I’ve had like a combined one small fry in 3 years, they were just ok. This was one of those cheat meals I regretted afterward, my stomach was not ready for that kind of abuse.

This morning got in a total of 3.85 miles, walked .85 miles, ran 1 mile, walked 1 mile and ran another mile. Took about an hour. Really need to step it up, July 21st is not that far away.

Next week I’m going to add fish back into my diet, the last few weeks it’s really grossed me out. Going to try to find a recipe to hopefully kill the nasty.

Also changing up the lifting to keep it fresh. Stole this from James, going to do triples at 80-85% until form breaks down. Will keep the same 5/3/1 schedule:
Monday- squat
Tuesday- bench
Wednesday- off
Thrusday- Deads
Friday- Military press

All accessory lifts will be super sets.

Yesterdays weight 234.8, meh. Pants fit better but I’m really not satisfied. Going to have my blood tests done Wednesday.

Speaking of abuse, my mom told me that she knew someone who ate no meat for a long time, then all of a sudden one night she had this huge steak and her stomach exploded.
I don’t know how true it is, she’s been known to tell tales but it’s still interesting.

This is how I’ve been making fish lately (salmon to be exact)
I sautee in EVOO for a minute each side after seasoning. Then put dill weed and jalapeno mustard and bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Tastes delicious and I’m not much of a fish fan either.

Sounds awesome Nikki, thank that recipe would translate well to tilapia? Either way I’ll give it a go, thanks.

Probably. It’s almost impossible to ruin tilapia, whereas salmon is touchier.

^obviously you’ve not had my cooking, haha.

“Aren’t you supposed to just dip it all in beer batter and deep fry? What’s so hard about that!!! :)”

Dill weed and tilapia is good together, so I don’t see why not.

^Going to the store today, hopefully, and will get some dill weed.

Bench last night
135x5
155x5
185x3
205x3
225x3
235x3
255xfail

reverse band bench
295x3
315x1
335xfail

decline
135x10
185x2x10

Rope push downs
4x10-12

abs

Spent the whole day at the zoo with the family, walked a million miles pushing a stroller, good exercise but bad if you’re supposed to squat. Swapped bench and squat days. Really hating benching these days, its going backward which I could accept being on a diet and all but not losing weight AND losing strength is BS.
Videos are loading now so I will post them soon.
