the diet is goin…starting round II tomorrow! grrrrr
carbing up without gluten-y stuff next time…feelin like crrraaaap. (said in Fat Bastard accent) even though I didn’t eat half as many carbs as recommended. oh well.
I feel really good on the diet, energy wise…which is kinda weird but maybe speaks to how I should be eating in my ‘normal,’ life anyway.
Why no gluten?
I don’t know if you mentioned it, but are you doing an EC stack?
Its clique’ to say it, but I’m sensitive to the stuff…I may have a true intolerance to it that I may not have ever grown out of as a kid.
Nope, haven’t done the EC stack…I’m too chicken. Was considering it this round though, just to see how I would feel… I hate the feeling of when pills wear off though…I crash pretty bad and don’t sleep well at night.
Also, I like to FEEL hungry…takin pills like that completely blunts my appetite.
And I should say back in the day when pills still had ephedrine in them(legally, on the shelves!), I was pretty much addicted. It was rough weaning off of them and if this EC stack is anything like that, I don’t want to go through that again.
hmm, maybe not…just read over everything, and yohimibine hcl seems like its to be used fasted before LISS cardio…and isn’t that good to use unless your already at a very low BF%

Are you taking it?
Gotcha.
I’ve been doing an ECY stack (with the Y being yohimbine), and I feel fine doing it. I usually don’t get a crash from stimulants since I don’t feel too… stimulated using them.
I hadn’t read about Yohimbine and LISS, but that makes a lot of sense. It’s just cheap enough that I don’t see any harm in tossing some in.

eh, I’m rambling…
I’m kinda interested in this yohimbe stuff…
Wow, I’d never imagined wanting to feel hungry! On one of the earlier rounds of the RFL I think I relied too heavily on the stimulants, and when I came off I felt bad. The next time through, I took one or two days off a week and felt great at the end.
lol…then I definitely shouldn’t take it! what would be the point? haha
If I don’t feel hungry, then I don’t eat. I’m having a hard enough getting all the proteinz I need as it is.
Maybe the stuff I took back in the day had more side effects than just straight up epheDRINE.
Then again, I can’t even take pseudo ephedrine(the good cold medicine) without feeling all weird… I have an old bottle of meltdown(fat burner) I took ONE pill this morning and I’ve felt buzzed all day, lol…and this stuff has yohimbe(the suckier stuff)
so even if I took .5- 1 dose of the ec stack would that even play a role in the metabolism effects it can have?
The ec stack gives like a 5% increase to metabolism or something like that? I thought I read that being maybe a 1/2 lb a week maybe that it could help with.

And remember, hunger is fat leaving the body

I figure my energy is fine without it, so…
I don’t remember the actual effects in terms of numbers, but it was nothing huge. If you do the diet fine without it, then you’re right that there’s no need for it.
If you haven’t done a diet break with all those rounds of rfl. I highly encourage you to do so. I wasted 2 months and loads of frustration because I went straight through without a proper diet break.
The cue was supposed to be a loss of strength, but I never saw a loss in strength so I just kept going.
I was so afraid to up my calories to maintenance levels after such great success with rfl, that I completely plateaued and could not lose an ounce of fat, no matter what I did.
Don’t be afraid! Eat more and let your body reset! Done properly you will not regain fat.
Since the proper diet break, the weight is flying off once again.
Just my experience. Hopefully it will help you from going crazy like I did and not being able to lose fat. My ego of being able to “stay strong and keep pushing through” was not smart or efficient.

Good luck!
Is it the weight you put back on or is it in addition to where you were at your plateau?
How long of a break did you take? What were the details (did you just pig out, or was there a strategy?)
I am in my 4th week of maintenance and simply took 10% off and am losing fat and gaining muscle. The interesting thing while rfl’ing for too long was that my strength wasn’t sacrificed. I just COULD NOT move the scale or my bodyfat down. I got stuck right at about 15% bf and couldn’t make it move. Now with just a 10% deficit I am losing fat again. Certainly not at the speed of rfl, but it feels good!
I will go back to rfl to kickstart some more rapid fat loss at some point. But being “tough, resilient, and dedicated” ended up being just a waste of time. Take dietbreaks.
Down an inch around the belly button and half an inch on the waist. Also down to 212, which is 8 pounds from the start of this round. 2 pounds above where I was at the last diet break, but looking better in my opinion.
I will be moving out of RFL land next week and into a more moderate, yet clean diet…more heavy lifting+ cardio, FTW!
RFL is my secret weapon I will keep in my tool box for a long time.
I will probably do one more round for good measure before the hubby gets home from deployment, next month
But I owe it to myself to put just as much thought and dedication into ‘normal,’ eating/training, as I do with strict dieting.
I’ve found that RFL & modified fasts are a perfect kickstart when the “10-20% below maintenance” diets stop working. They are great but you get burned out quick.
Hi, So i started my RFL about 6 days ago and i have a refeed tomorrow, and i have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
Currently, I am;
Weight = 178 (Was 185 about a week ago, mostly lost water weight i guess)
BF = (16.5%, i thought i was 18% but the electronic scale at my gym says 16.5%)
Weekly Activity;
Monday: Aerobic (Cardio)
Tuesday: Inactive
Wednesday: Inactive
Thursday: Full Body Workout (Cheat Meal Before Workout)
Friday: Inactive
Saturday: Inactive
Sunday: Full Body Workout (5 hr refeed)
Current Diet is attached;
So u can see REFEED is tomorrow; Not sure what to do HELP!
Focus your refeed on glucose based carbs (potatoes, rice, bread, pasta) keep protein moderate-low and fat to a minimum. Dont force yourself to eat and dont make excuses to eat candy and drink soda.

You’re a category 2 dieter with 148lbs of lean body mass, so you’d consume between 225-450gms of carbs. Try to adhere to what Lyle pretty much recommends, stick to the low end of carbs (225) in your 5 hr window refeed window to see how you respond. If you do well with that amount of carbs, you can go higher next week. When I did the diet, I did the high end of carbs (about 475) and felt nauseous. So try the low end first. Also try to separate the carbs into 3 meals.
