Ok guys a couple of (possibly very stupid) questions…
I’m 19, which means my Test levels are probably tip top. However I just haven’t felt very ‘testy’ recently and have considered starting TRIBEX, even just to see if I notice a difference (in how I feel, or in gains) I do realise I’m probably too young to need it though, and I’m not sure if I should even bother.
Then T-Nation released Rez-V, which I read up on and got quite interested in, since it seems to be a more generic male health supplement, with the added bonus of increasing Testosterone. I thought that this may be more suited to my needs, since it will boost my Test levels as well as providing all the other benefits.
The problem is - would Rez-V be strong enough to have an effect on my Testosterone levels? (considering that they may not even be low in the first place) And if so - would TRIBEX be the way to go?
As I said - I know that at my age I probably don’t need it, but since I probably will end up starting one of them (maybe both? would that be the way to go?) which would you recommend? I figure that all I’ve got to lose is some money, and at least then I’ll know…
Bonus question - anyone have any tips on explaining these products to steroid-obsessed over-worried mothers. Mine will be convinced that I’m taking something dangerous, and I need to ease her mind.
Seriously there are a few things that can affect your testosterone levels. The only way to really know is to get your numbers checked with a doctor. But it might just be cheaper to buy TRIBEX, and see if you notice anything. I find when I take TRIBEX, or Alpha Male, my face gets oily.
Now Rez-V is a nice supplement, but in my opinion, I would go with TRIBEX, or Alpha Male first. I plan on taking Rez-V and TRIBEX or AM together. But if you do have high levels of testosterone, then you won’t get a boost from TRIBEX or AM, and then I would think Rez-V would be a better sup.
Now I don’t see why a 19 year old needs his mother’s approval, but to explain, these T-boosting supplements should not take your levels above what is called high normal. So you will still be in the normal range, just the high side. But I doubt that even with these supplements that you could get levels as high as you were when you were 15.
At your age make sure your nutrition and sleeping habits are in order.
After this, I am sort of leaning towards a different view… as opposed to simple boosting. If everything is in order, at your age, you should certanly be producing enough.
However, it is possible that it is being bound via SHBG or that it is being aromatized to estrogen. If you reduce the amount being bound or reduce the amount being aromatized, then your free test levels will rise.
I’d also wonder about raised DHT levels if you simply boosted testosterone without concern for derivatives produced from it.
Anyhow, after considering the pathways that testosterone converts to other factors, and taking them into account, then I’d consider a testosterone booster.
Well, I am pretty youngat 23. I assume my T is pretty high though I’ve never got it tested. But I do experience more of an impact from estrogen minimizing substances, such as anti-aromatases and things like REZ-V than substances that actually boost T.
I notice little in the way of improvement in performance or well-being with Alpha Male and TRIBEX and the like. I generally feel great all the time. But with estrogen-minimizing substances, I tend to lean out a little, drop a small amount of water weight and generally feel a little more alert and energetic.
As much as it’s being touted as a testosterone booster/support. The active ingredient of REZ-V seems to do a lot more interesting stuff than potential effects on Testosterone and Estrogen. Either way, it’s a support formula anyway, so at best it’ll just make sure you’re keeping your Test levels a bit more consistent. The other health benefits seem a lot more worthwhile though, and I’m personally interested in it as more of a general health supplement.
Or maybe it doesn’t do anything, it’s not only a new supplement, but I’ve never even seen or heard of any other supplements using this active ingredient, especially not at these quantities, so Biotest is either “onto something” or they are just ambitious… guess we’ll know after it’s been around for a while, and/if other companies start to jump on the Resveratrol bandwagon
