How is the tracking of the nutrition and the cardio going? Do you use Fitday? or another online tracking program, or do you just write it down? =D

I hope it’s nothing serious with your back Court. You still have lots of time to before the meet to heal.
I sent my entry express mail, so it should be cleared today. It’s nice to see a few M1 lifters and it looks like it will be a great meet.
Have fun in Cali![/quote]
He doesn’t seem concerned by it, so even though I was a bit of a basket case in his office this morning, he was cool. I’m heading back to see him this afternoon.
Basically sitting in a car for 12 hours in a 36 hour period, plus lifting a few thousand pounds worth of weights and going up/down stairs all day isn’t conducive to my spine staying in alignment. He says I could have had the same pain happen by bending to pick up a pen at that point.
I’m going to ask what I can do after a long period of sitting so this won’t happen again since I have a nice coast to coast flight coming up in 2 days.
The meet will be a blast. I’m looking forward to it already!

I use fitday to get the initial macro breakdown, then I just put it all in excel. I tend to eat the same things, so it’s just easier for me that way. Then I can move things around and cut/paste to see how it changes which I find easier than using fitday.
The cardio is sporadic still. I’m meeting with a guy tonight who specializes in nutrition. He says my diet itself is good (ie. the food I eat), but the timing of all my nutrients sucks. So he’s basically taken what I eat and tonight we’re going over when I should be eating it. He says I should have no problem losing 6lbs in 6 weeks if I follow it. Basically I’m getting free advice because I’m cute and approached him at a bar.
This is the guy that did my body comp last week and told me I have fat legs. Well, he didn’t say I had fat legs, but said that’s where I store my fat. But the girl in me heard “You have fat legs” and I plan on not letting him live that down.
So the long and short of it is the nutrition is still a work in progress, the cardio needs to be more consistent and I have fat legs ![]()

Didn’t he say you should add a significant amount of protein to your diet?

Yep - he offered to help with that personally.

Get something caught in your throat there honey? Better get it out or you could choke and die. Better to swallow whatever it is than spit it out though - or so I’ve read on the SAMA forum lately ![]()

Jealous I can lift longer or mad that I can lift heavier? I can understand why you’d feel that way.
A little protein goes a long way.
Just don’t know why we still can’t surf and train when I’m there just cuz I’ll be a bit stronger. Protein builds muscles afterall ![]()

Well, for one, those aren’t the activities I was referring too and B. I agree protein builds muscles. Like every contributor always says but you are forgetting that some protein is better than others, especially those…ugh…produced in the States.

Well then I’m confused…
Ouroboro is stalking me… I saw her at the chiro this afternoon.
I leave for Cali in the morning and won’t get any training in until Friday with Bartl. I’ll be walking around as much as I can between flights and then once I get to LA/Irvine tomorrow to make sure my back stays happy.
I’m allowed to lift on Friday as long as it feels good and I self-test it (aka I get Bartl to do the same test my chiro does to me to test strength). Looking forward to it!
May not post much until next week, but I’ll be training
And interviewing… since that IS the purpose of my trip afterall…

Okay. I was there first so who’s stalking whom?

slaps forehead
Trained yesterday with Bartl. His session from Maximum Strength that he’s doing.
We did speed squats, rack pulls, reverse lunges, some wood chops, bulgarian split squat isometric holds and then I benched.
My bench was as follows:
45x10
65x5
80x5
85x4
90x3
95x2
100x1
80x5 w/ pause
70x10 w/ pause
It’s amazing how light the 100lbs felt consider I struggled with it a ton just a few weeks ago. It makes me feel better about what I might be able to push at the meet.
My back got a little angry during the heavy set of squats at the end so I cut the reps short just to be on the safe side.
I somehow lost my voice and I really don’t know how. All I know is Bartl seems a bit happier today - maybe because I finally have to shut up and listen to him?
Yesterday was an upper body session…again from Max Strength. Then did 10 min of HIIT on the elliptical.
Upper consisted of speed pin presses, neutral grip seated rows, push press and tricep extensions. It’s a pretty light week for him, but you get to do two heavy sets at the end of the main movement, and I locked out 115 pretty easily. Makes me think I could come close to it at Niagara.
My voice is actually completely gone today. I can whisper, but that’s it. It’s weird because I’m not sick and don’t have a sore throat, but I just have absolutely no voice. My smart ass comments have to be saved up today and I’ll only be able to let the really good ones out.
Tomorrow is another lower body day. At least today my glutes and hips aren’t nearly as sore as yesterday. I guess I hadn’t been activating my glutes all that much so those speed squats just totally killed me.

Hey, there IS a Santa Claus and he does get my lists!!
So my voice is back! Still a little cracky and manish, but at least I can carry a conversation. After all the green tea, Emergen-C, etc that I had yesterday, I think it was finally the vodka that fixed my voice. We went and saw this “gnarly” band play last night (youtube Carolina Liar) and ended up getting sufficiently drunk.
I can’t believe I’m leaving tomorrow. Everyone has been complaining about how ‘cold’ it is here and it’s been making me laugh. I’m really not looking forward to the weather that may await me at home. However it could be worse: I could be going to Calgary where it’s super freezing at the moment.
Anyways, had legs again today:
Front Squats to parallel box:
155x3x4
135x5x2
Speed Deadlifts:
135x1x10
→ This was actually really good for me to do since I haven’t deadlifted in ages. My back felt great and I could just focus on form
Walking Lunges:
22.5x7x3
17.5x10x1
Dragon Flags
3x12
DB Suitcase Deadlifts
3x10 → Not sure what weight I used…
I’m going to miss having a great training partner! I’m so glad he’s coming up for my meet though because he definitely makes sure I don’t sell myself short (ie. my front squat weight used today). I think he’ll be awesome to be there and push me and keep me calm is I get to freakout mode.
