What a beastly performance! If he continues to play that well all year, the Warriors will be in good shape.

Yeah, they desperately needed a true shooter and I think they might have found one. I know it’s only one game, and I certainly don’t expect him to shoot 15 out of 20 night in and night out, but if he can come off the bench and give us 15 pts or so, that would be HUGE! Having him really opened up the offense because they couldn’t bring the double team as much.

I feel bad for Belinelli at this point. I think he’s going to be the odd man out and likely used as trade bait, along with Harrington.

Monday 11/17 - Quads and calves:

Did the usual SMR and mobility crap this morning and pre-workout.

Front Squat: 225 x 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3 - No issues at all with the knee.

Leg Press: 410 x 2:00 x 30 reps, 410 x 2:00 x 30 reps

Reverse Lunge: 105 x 6,5,5
Ab rollouts: 8,8,8

Leg Extension: 130 x 20,20, 140 x 15

Leg Press Calf Raise: 300 x 22,19,17, back off set 210 x 24 - I followed this up with a 90 second stretch with 210 lbs.

Today was a nice, confidence building workout. Even though I didn’t have any knee pain this morning, I was a little worried about it as I started my workout. I wasn’t sure if I was going to even try 225, but after my warmup sets, I didn’t have any pain and decided to go for it.

My legs are jelly right now. They feel like Charlie and Eddie Murphy were beating my legs.

EDIT: 4000 posts, eh? I’m spending too much time on this site.

Congrats on the squats and the milestone.

Tuesday 11/18 - Chest and tris.

This morning I did the usual SMR.

Today’s workout was kind of all over the place, as my shoulder still isn’t quite right so tried to find exercises that didn’t aggravate it.

After the usual DeFranco warmup, I then did the following:

Band push-ups: mini band x 8, monster mini band x 6,8,6/(no band)4 - I tried to do this as a push-up plus with the scap raise at the end.

Flat DB Press: 60 x 8, 65 x 7, 70 x 8, 75 x 6, 80 x6, 85 x 5, 90 x 5, 95 x 5 - I really concentrated on keeping my shoulders down and my elbows tucked on all of my sets. I basically just did sets until I found the right weight that didn’t bother my shoulder, but was still a challenge. Only the set with 95 kind of bothered me at all.

I tried doing some Incline HS after, but it just didn’t feel right.

Skullcrushers - 85 x 8,8,10,10
Seated ext rotation - 15 x 8, 17.5 x 8,8,10
BTN band pull aparts - Light band x 10,11,12,13

The band pull aparts felt really good. I’m going to have to do these a lot more.

Overhead/reverse/regular tricep extension tri-set: 80 x 8/8/8, 85 x 8/5/4,8/3/3

Then I did some more stretches for the chest, tris and shoulders and some additional band traction.

When I’m watching the Warriors game tonight, I’m going to do a whole bunch of the broomstick stretch.

Speaking of the Warriors, I’m not sure how I feel about the Stephen Jackson extension. While I love SJAX and I’m glad he’s going to be around, I’m not wild about giving him a max deal for a guy in his 30’s. I see this really hurting their chances signing any new free agents in the upcoming years. I guess they better hope that guys like Morrow, Randolph and Wright develop well and they can just retain those guys.

I thought this picture was funny. You could caption it a few ways:

“Don Nelson really loves Stephen Jackson.”

“Although it was painful for him, Stephen Jackson was willing to do what was necessary to get his extension.”

In completely unrelated news. I picked up Tropic Thunder on Blu-Ray today. My favorite thing is that it came with a free “Booty Sweat” t-shirt. I can’t wait to wear that shirt out.

The Warriors always have some story that makes you pity them. Didn’t we pass up Garnett?

If you are into animation, Horton Hears a Who was actually one of the best animated films I’ve seen. Still can’t top The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it’s up there with Monster’s Inc.

I love the band pull aparts, too. I should throw them back in…

Broomstick stretch:

Do it, and let the English see you do it.

(got another offer from a head hunter, by the way, and the first one talked with me again today and had forgotten the original rate we negotiated, so I threw her a higher figure and she didn’t seem to remember

I don’t know if we passed on Garnett as much as we botched it. I’ve heard a few things, but it basically all seemed to involve what we did with the Brandan Wright pick. Minny didn’t want Brandan and we were supposed to have arranged with the Bobcats to take a different player, and then there was another rumor that we weren’t supposed to trade with the Bobcats directly and it was supposed to have been a three team deal. I’ve heard a few other slightly different scenarios, but they basically all came down to the front office screwing up and not communicating with all the teams involved. Oh well. Part of the fun of being a W’s fan is being frustrated and lamenting over what could have been.

Nice Braveheart reference! I think my issue earlier with the broomstick stretch was that I wasn’t doing it right and that was likely because I was so tight in other areas, that I couldn’t even get into the proper position. Now that I’m fixing those issues, I seem to be getting more out of that stretch.

Two job offers in one week? That’s great! Pretty soon you’ll have some money again and can actually get some supplements and try some of those stacks you’ve researched.

Looks like nobody responded to you about the Choline thing. I hope we can get some info on that from someone eventually.

Yeah I wasn’t up or down on JAX resigning, but I guess if the Warriors are committed to him and he is committed to the team, then it can work for the short term. However, in the long term, it will hurt their chance to get big talent in the Bay Area, as you stated.

It still cracks me up on Draft Night two years ago. I remember watching Brendan Wright when he was drafted by the Bobcats saying he can beat his boss in a game of 1-on-1 (boss is Jordan), then 30 minutes later, he gets traded haha. I’m pretty sure it was planned for him to be used as trade bait, but the whole situation and the way it unfolded was funny and ironic, in a way.

Morrow with another big game last night, 25 points. I’m glad Oden is healthy, and it shows he can dominate when he’s healthy.

Hopefully Nelson starts playing his younger guys more and gets them developed. At least he lets the young guys play, unlike Larry Brown.

Yeah, Morrow has really been the savior for use the past two games. I know he’s going to come down to earth eventually, but as long as he can stay a consistent shooter then he should thrive in Nellie’s system.

It was good to finally see Oden play. I really like the guy, but I just have a bad feeling he’s going to be like Bill Walton. He’ll maybe put together a good, complete season or two, but otherwise he’ll have a injury plagued career. It’s only an inch, but it just scares me that one of his legs is longer the the other.

It’s definitely been interesting this year with Nelson and his play of the young guys. I’m amazed Randolph has even been in a game, let alone the significant minutes he’s given to some of the other rookies on the team. (I still pretty much consider Wright to be a rookie since he played so little last year).

I forgot about the beat MJ 1-on-1 comment though. That was pretty funny how it all played out.

Thursday 11/20 - Hams and calves

RDL: 335 x 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3

Lying Leg Curl: 1705 x 5,5,5,5,5

Natural Glute/Ham: BW x 6,6,6,6

Back Ext: 50 x 12,12,12
Decline crunch: 20 x 6,6,6

Seated Calf Raise: 120 x 22,19,17, back off set 90 x 24 - followed up with 90 sec stretch on the leg press with 230 lbs.

Nothing special about today’s workout. Just hitting the weights. I did mess around with some band traction and band pull aparts in between sets here and there. Also did the Doggcrapp stretches for the hammies again.

I’m sure this would be of interest to you:

Wow! I knew about the Crawford/Harrigton deal obviously, but this is pretty huge for the Knicks. I guess they are planning on going after more than LeBron in 2010.

I’m not sure how I feel about the Crawford deal. I like him enough, but it just seems like we already have enough undersized guards that aren’t true points. Unless this deal is Monta insurance, then I just don’t get it.

Friday 11/21 - Back and Bis

Chins: BW+90 x 3,3,3,3,2,2,2,2

BB Row: 290 x 5,5, 275 x 5,5,5 - I just wasn’t grooving the 290, so I dropped the weight.

HS High Row: 300 x 8,7,8 - superset with
Nautilus Pullover: 170 x 10,8,8

Reverse EZ Bar Curl: 85 x 8 - Again, this felt strangely heavy, so I switched to

Preacher Reverse Curls: 45 x 8,7, 50 x 8 - I did these with a about a 303 tempo.

Mechanical DB Curl: 40 x 8/6/6,8/5/4,nope - Again these felt like shit, so I just stopped.

Today was a shitty workout. I didn’t feel bad or anything, but I just felt weak across the board.

I will likely take tomorrow off entirely. If I do go to the gym at all, it will be to only do some external rotation work and corrective exercises.

Tonight I’m going to SMR the shit out of my right shoulder and pec while I’m watching the W’s game.

Looks like the lower body stuff is coming along especially well!!

Thanks! It’s kind of funny now considering that my glutes were originally my main issue when the log started, but now it all seems to be my right shoulder.

I was looking at your log and I think my shoulder issue may also be a problem with the subscapularis. When I dig my fingers into it, it hurts like hell but after my shoulder feels a lot better. I’ve been really trying to SMR the pec and stretch it out.

I’ve also noticed I have a very tender spot on my right rhomboid. When I take a lacrosse ball to that area the pain resonates all the way through my shoulder. Basically I’m going to really try to work those two areas over the next week and see how my shoulder responds.

Ah I hate subscapularis. :frowning:

Hopefully your shoulder responds well to the tissue work on those muscles.

I’ll be following the log

Monday 11/24 - Quads and calves:

So I took the weekend off, as I stated earlier. I did a bunch of SMR over the weekend, but I think I might have over done it. My right shoulder and pec are killing me. I shouldn’t say killing me, but they are very sore to the touch.

Front Squat: 225 x 4,4,4,4,4,4

Leg Press: 410 x 2:00 x 35 reps, 410 x 2:00 x 34 reps

Reverse Lunge: 105 x 6,6,6
Ab rollouts: 8,8,8

Leg Extension: 140 x 18,17,16

Leg Press Calf Raise: 310 x 24,19,18, back off set 220 x 25 - I followed this up with a 90 second stretch with 220 lbs.

I didn’t really feel right today. Just tired overall. I didn’t sleep well over the weekend and drank too much, so I’m sure that had a lot to do with it.

Basically I’m not going to hit the upper body this week. I’m going to do my normal hamstring workout, but both my chest and back days, I’m just going to do some SMR and corrective exercises for the shoulders, lower traps, etc.

Tuesday 11/25 - SMR and a little Tricep work.

Basically, I started my gym work with the DeFranco upper body series and then a bunch of additional SMR with the lacrosse ball for the chest, shoulders and back. I found a pretty painful spot on my lower traps this time that I’m going to need to spend some time working on.

Then, I did a little bit of band traction work. I felt pretty good at this point, so I decided to do a few other things.

Face Pulls - 60 x 10, 70 x 10,10,10
Scap Pushups - 10,10,10,10 - These felt great! I really felt things working in there. I’m going to make these a regular thing from now on.

Skullcrushers - 65 x 10,20,20,16
Poor Man’s Shoulder Horn - 17.5 x 10,10,10,10
Light band pull-aparts - 15,18,15,20

Reverse/Regular Tri Pressdown - 70 x 10/10,10/5,8/5

Tomorrow, I’m going to do the same thing but add some SMR for the lower body and then focus on some different exercises. I’m thinking the no-money drill, wall slides and some scap raises.

I’m sitting here watching episode III on Spike. I’m ok with the teasing of women and stuff but you just choked out your pregnant wife.

You really do have anger problems.

Now you just went and got all your limbs cut off, how the hell are you supposed to lift now?
