No I know he’s on there. THat looks like him. And I’m not full retard.

Who are these sprinters you speak of, that never ever lift weights? (Unless you’re referring to the guy who stole your murse and sped off two night back).

And there are pure ectomorphs who don;t even sprint and still have low body fat. What are you getting at with this sudden twist to a GOOD question you raised initially?

Answer: if you didn;t lift, endos would progressively get fatter and fatter till they would look somewhere between kinda-chubby and walmart-cashier depending on how much they ate over the years, ectos would stay skinny till their metabolisms slowly dropped as they got to the thirties (but caloric intake stayed same) and slowly become skinny-fat over several years.

You’ve apparently never actually found Waldo before then. He always has glasses on. The character in the circle is a chick, with red hair and what looks to be a knee high skirt.
The wizard is in the lower left corner. That’s the only “findable” person in that part of the picture.

Fail.

you’ll pay for it one day!

To go back to the subject I guess, as stated in Berardi’s G-Flux article, that exercising and eating clean —> More LBM than Not exercising + eating Clean.

A guy eating more than his BMR+TEF+TEF would gain weight, but not muscle.

Really?

Definition of Aerobic:
“Constant moderate intensity work that uses up oxygen at a rate in which the cardio respiratory system can replenish oxygen in the working muscles.”

olympic athletes do the 100m sprint in around 10 seconds.

I really don’t know what you mean by “I’m guessing sprinting would be anaerobic/areobic” they are opposites, its either anaerobic or areobic, black or white, apple or an orange. I know ‘aero’ means air in greek, so im pretty sure the words origins are either greek or latin for ‘with air’ and ‘without air’ (oxygen).

dumb thread period

Waldo? Who the hell is Waldo? Its Wally, Wheres Wally…

I disagree with this entirely, It just doesn’t make sense. Of course they are going to add some muscle, it will entirely be based on thier genetics. Your body doesn’t get to 200 lbs and all of a sudden say, Hey this is it, no more muscle growing it’s going to be all fat. You lift to enhance the natural muscle growth you already have going. It’s not like muscle growth ONLY happens when you lift. Look at all the big kids in HS who don’t lift at all. And there are plenty. As an example a friend of mine who has never lifted weights is a very solid 230 lbs and has been since HS, he played linebacker for our football team. Well he ate a shitload and got big. Genetics will determine where the calories go, eating clean and smart can also shift calories to muscle instead of fat. So yes you can gain muscle without working out. Now gaining strength? Not much if any I’d say. BTW the question wasn’t stupid, but a lot of the answers were.

I see your point, I wasn’t clear enough.
What I wanted to say is that he would put on muscle (% would be determined by metabolism as you say), but his muscle/fat ratio will be lower if he doesn’t exercise.

Exactly, there isn’t really levels here, it’s more like one fluid continuum. Things can be done that are either anabolic or catabolic. And in the anabolic range, things can be done to influence if the growth is in muscle or fat, the more you do to influence muscle, the better your muscle to fat ration wil be on the gain. For instance, eating clean and lifting aren’t the end all be all, add some steroids in there and you will gain even more muscle faster and less fat. But overall eating clean the right way to gain mass should be possible to add some muscle.

Edit for spelling stupid continuum!

Oh my god this one is too good, for so many reasons.

milktruck,
