Hey Guys, So i got a call from an eye doctor here in town and he told me he had just picked up an old car that he wants restored. So i asked the usual questions and when i get to his house i see this Almost mint 60 Dart?! i was stoked! It had a 383 in it at the time. ( why i will never know) and the ugly ass avocado green part job.
So far im about 75% done with it as the paint just got done last week i went with a heavy metallic black from dupont dont remember the code ill post it when i go back out to the shop. I decided to go with a Pearl white interior ( seats, kick panels, etc…) IMO the contrast look great. Yanked the old 383 and dropped in a spanken new 340 with a demon 4 barrel. hooker headers back to 2.5 in piping. B+M shifter and shift kit.
Now where i would like your input. Im putting a sound system in the car the ALpine head unit will go in the glove box all trimed out so it looks nice. Went with some JL Audio xr series speakers front and rear (pricey little fuckers!) i was thinking about building the kick panels out and molding the 5 1/4’s into the kickpanels for the fronts. right now theres only the center dash speaker so w/e i do ill have to fabricate. thought id see if any of you guys have any reccomendations on what would look/sound best or any other cool ideas Thanks!
Heres a picture of the motor wiht my shitty phone. i’ll try nd get a digital camera and get you guys some more pics if your interested.
Holy crap that’s a now even sweeter ride! I second the need for more pictures!
Sorry I can’t help with any ideas, I have only modified the interiors of SUV’s and you can do anything with those!
I’ve seen speakers built into the headlines and I don’t suggest that at all. Unless of course you want a massive head ach from the sound thumping you in the head.
Bushy interesting you did it that way in your porsche the last porsche i did i put a 12in. OZ vector in the pass. footwell only i built in into the car and had it firing down. yup i too am going with the component 5 1/4 with tweeter, with a 4 channel JL amp. sounds nice. when i used to do retail car audio we built all of our SQ cars with JL components. This car is pretty much an open canvas for me as he has instilled total faith (and pretty much unlimited budget) that i will give him a “clean” but functional car.
Crew, the headliner huh? i dont get that one lol im gonna fiberglass these to the kick panels and aim them both toward the dome light this way you dont just hear one side like normally.
Oh BTW guys sorry i had a typo in the first post its a 69 Dodge Dart NOT a 60. I’ll get a hold of a camera and get some more pics monday prob. thanks guys!
i envy you more than you can possibly comprehend
This sounds sweet. I don’t have much experiance with sound systems though…looking foward to the pics.

Hey Game,
Ha, haaa… another car freak eh? Well I got a screamer in the garage right now that’s sick as hell, but back a ways, I had a pretty trick little dodge myself. It was a 69 dodge dart “Western Sport Special”. Pretty cool lil car I’ll say. 318 dual exhaust, of course it’s nothing to what is sitting over here right now. I’ll have to get some real pics of my camaro up, bushy’s seen some old shit, but you guys will shit when you see it now. I took the subframe completely out, and chromeillusioned the A-arms, frame, sub, and marbilized the rest of the wheel wells and other parts. It’s off the fucking chart bro. March pulley system, Demon, ZZ430 GM crate, Barry Grant fuel system, on and on and on, trick shit mang.
Good to know you're a nut too!
I used to paint and can get down on some serious shit.
Went to a couple weeklong seminars with Craig Frasier in Vegas when I was airbrushing too.

Boyd wheels

Looked wierd when i took the cover all the way off becasue thers no glass in it yet

engine shot still need to run fuel lines and misc wiring sorry i already posted this one i know

Badge, kinda shows the metallic in the paint
Looking good! Clearly, the engine is the best part. Sigh, my LT1 seems plain now.
THanks bro! you need to take that LT1 and put an LS2 kit on it
horsepower = <3 i’ll keep you guys updated as it rolls along i should have it done in a couple weeks tops

Damn, that's a fine run there!
Yeah those hemi’s are something else. I think you asked me the year on the cam game. It’s a 67 RS. Low original miles, I blew up the 327 and little by little went completely nuts on it after that! Shit’s ridiculous now.
good thread!
