Restarting TRT After Completing Chemotherapy. Anastrozole Question

I’m 52 with low T. Using Defy Medical, I was on a TRT protocol for about 2 years. In December of last year, I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. So as not to complicate things, my oncologist had me stop all TRT. I finished my chemo in June and I am in remission (yay!).

Compared to the way I was on TRT, I feel absolutely horrible right now still recovering from the chemo (pretty bad fatigue primarily with some joint pain) and low T. However, I am starting TRT again with Defy and getting back into the gym.

My blood work last week showed that my total T was 230 ng/dL and my free T was 3.6 pg/mL, which are definitely low based on my understanding
.
My protocol is (same as before):

• T Cyp 200 mg/ml – 0.40 ml IM/SQ twice weekly
• HCG 400 iu SQ twice weekly
• Anastrozole 0.125 mg twice weekly as needed

I’ve always been pretty unsure on if/when to take the Anastrozole since I am not quite sure when I am feeling the symptoms of high E. So any suggestions? Just take it regularly or when I feel the “symptoms”?

Thanks in advance!

Looks as though it was prescribed for you to take “as needed”. Did your doctor give you any direction as to how to determine when it is needed?

The standard Defy protocol is 80mg test + .125mg anastrozole both twice a week. I actually like that they compound a .125mg pill, makes it easy. But that’s a pretty standard start for them

Interesting, I didn’t know everyone received the same rx.

Is that unusual?

Yes, Empower is the only pharmacy I know of that will make one that small.

If you want one lower, they will make it. Do you want one smaller?

Wow really? I don’t think I’d need anything smaller, I break the .125mg into two sometimes now that they come in tabs, but usually 2x .125mg is great

I’ve had guys take .1 and .05mg. Pretty sure they are capsules. Glad the .125mg works for you.
