You need serious math help. How do you figure that they boost the economy by 1%, when they make minimum wage, and still send money home to their native countries? Do you know what tax on minimum wage is, compared to the cost of educating the anchor baby children, welfare for the anchor babies, and incarcerating those who break the law? You REALLY want to weigh what they contribute against what they incur?
By the way, I am like Carlitos, someone who came here legally. My parents had enough class and respect to make sure me and my bro were ok when we came here. How were these deaths caused? I’m sure many more than that have died trying to enter the US from Mexico by way of crossing at night and having something happen to them, dying in the back of trucks, etc and this is a terrible thing. I would not advocate having someone sitting on a hilltop and picking people off with a sniper rifle as they try to cross, but there are plenty of ways to defend the border. Whether it’s sales and excise taxes for goods and services or property taxes on real estate they pay. They do not qulify for cash assistance food stamps or masshealth. I get how illegal immigrants can be a problem. But going as far as calling them “scumbag motherfuckers” is uncalled for. If I lived a place like Mexico and the US was just across the border, hell, I would do the run-and-jump into San Diego immediately.

When I lived in SoCal and made regular trips to Tijuana, I used to eat those bacon hot dogs all the time. I loved those things.
