I have been doing a 10-8-6 rep range in an attempt to gain both size and strength. Is this somewhat accurate? I know high reps for mass and low for strength but will middle ground work?

try 5/3/1 or a 5x5 workout. it will likely do much better for both for ya.
heavy weight at high total reps + food = mass gained over time
low weight at high reps = pump
