I have been trying to keep a training log for the last few weeks. I have been incorperating a lot of Gironda type rep parameters such as 8x8 and so forth. I have been mixing up the reps throughout the week such as doing 8x8 on Monday, 10x10 on Wed, and 15x4 on Fri. Now my question is this, should I stick to one rep pattern for a few weeks and then switch or is what I am doing fine?
In other words should I do 8x8 for two weeks or so and then do 10x10 for a few weeks and then move onto lets say 15x4 for a few weeks, or is mixing them up fine. I kinda like mixing them up throughout the week, I feel that it keeps my body guessing what I am going to do next. Thanks a lot!

What did Gironda say to do? I would go with that advice. He is supposed to be the best trainer ever. I saw a pic of him a few times. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a trainer built better than him.
My advice would be to mix it up not only daily but even each exercise. A guy told me one time that if you do the same reps in all your exercises, you are not hitting the different muscle fibers that are used more in the ohter rep ranges. I also heard that after 3 or 4 sets done peoperly, that muscle is broken down in that rep range and time to use a different range.
I go so far that I won’t even do the same rep range from set to set. I like you, like to keep it constantly changing and make my muscles never have a chance to adapt. Keep the muscles constantly rebuilding by never letting them get comfortable.
“Be sure to constantly rotate your parameters throughout the week. In other words, don?t perform the same parameters for two consecutive workouts. Don?t be afraid to get creative, but stick to the recommended ranges. If you do, you?ll be well on your way to the physique you desire.”
I am no expert but every time I come back to this article I get something out of it.
