Hey!
So I’m starting back on 531 after years off. Previously, with a calculator my 1rm on deadlift was 192.5kg.
Today my 1rm is 148kg on a calculator (135x3)
So today I started day one week one and my working sets were 65kg 75kg 85kg. On my last set of 85kg I ended up doing 21 reps… ?
Worried about moving forward with the setup. Is my 1rm likely very wrong, or is this normal in week 1? Any advice appreciated.
Fwiw I was not doing touch and go.
Why are you doing 85kg on week 1 when your tm is I assume around 135kg?

85kg should have been your first set…?
1RM = 148
90% TM = 132.5
Gives you working sets of:
5 x 85kg
5 x 100kg
5+ x 112.5kg

90% TM = 132.5
65kg is almost exactly 50% of the TM. I wonder if OP mistakenly used the percentages for BBB assistance work? Unless he started his run with the deload week.
But I don’t recall ever seeing 50% as the load for any of the 5/3/1 work sets.

It’s one of two things:
A shit online calculator
He’s just read the % sign as a kg sign. The weights he’s listed in kg would be the percentages of TM in wk1
I’d be slightly thrown by his ability to push himself too. For someone of his strength, 85kg should have been far easier than just 21 reps.

maybe he only stopped at 21 because high rep deadlifts are dead

I think high rep dreads are simply hiding in fear after @T3hPwnisher 40 rep madness @ 405lbs
