I’m located in northeastern Pa.
Level three ART can be taken after you credential in upper, lower extremity, and spine. It’s an advanced course geared towards biomechanical movement assesmenet. We’re trained to spot problems to increase performance, not just fix an injury. There’s probably 50-100 providers in the country now.
Let me state a few methods here that should be helpful.
Very hot showers, then switch to cold water for a few secs. then back to hot again.
Hot espom salt baths work wonders.
You, yourself can do massage on yourself, or get your girlfriend or wife to help you out.
Working the injured part out slightly will help bring blood to that area & that will help.
Stretching! I never see people stretch, and if I do they never warm up. They just start stretching which doesn’t help much.
For your joints, take Knox geltain. Take two packets a day. Makes a big difference.
That’s just a few things that I do, hopefully you can put a few to use. Chow!
Hey glad to see you are feeling better. I’m the guy who posted about Drs. Hartle. Bill (Indy) and you chimed in. I’m currently going once a week. Dr. Mike and Dr. Monique have both worked on me, personally I prefer her, since she was the one that reviewed my case and examined my x-rays. She also seems to be a bit more thourough. I am getting a combo of chiro-ART for lumbar curvature. My left leg is about 3/8" shorter than my right. This caused my lower back muscles to be much tighter on one side, talk about pain! Dr. Monique addresses this problem with a heel lift and chiro. ART treatments are for shinsplints, injured rhomboid(right shoulder) and trigger points in both forearms which cause tingling and numbness in my hands. I do construction work. In which I basically abuse my body every day in some manner. I’ve now had app. 4 treatments and have noticed a gradual but definite improval. My next app. is 5:50 p.m. on 9/18/01. I either have to go saturdays or late evenings, being I live 1.5 hours away. I’d enjoy meeting a fellow T-man, maybe we could schedule apps. the same time. Later! Lowell Graber
Checkin’ in: Had chiro/ART treatments on Friday and Monday. Things seem to be progressing. This morning I did 45-degree leg presses. It was with a ridiculously small weight, but it was the first lower-body exercise I’ve done in 11 months, so I was happy! No problems with the hammie. There was I little tightness in the right knee, but no pain. Also, I did a (very) little rope-jumping. No pain. I don’t want to get my hopes up too fast, but I’m beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. LW, sorry I can’t meet you tonight, maybe we can try for some other time. Tell Dr. Monique Tom Young says “Hi”. Oh yeah, I mentioned to Dr. Mike about Coach Davies’ rope article, and how the Coach had worked with the Northwestern team (that’s right, isn’t it, Coach?). He wrote down Coach’s name and the T-mag website. And just FYI, Dr. Mike’s in a powerlifting meet this weekend around Cleveland, and Dr. Monique will be there too (although I doubt she’s participating - she’s expecting). Later - God Bless America.
