Is it 545 or 550? lol
Sorry for the typo. Its a 32mm thick bar weighs 50lbs and plus collars so its 550. I’m not gonna stroke my ego for 5lbs on a site full of people who know the difference lol.

I missed yesterday so I did this this morning and I will be pulling and upper back tonight at the pit.
Squats and Lower today.
Started experimenting and trying to figure out High Bar Squats. Still pretty shaky and iffy about them but, its a start. I’m stupid slow out of the hole right now I know that. My quads need some serious work as apparently I have succeeded in becoming pretty Posterior Chain Dominate atleast in my Squatting.
High Bar Squat:
45 for 10
135 for 10
185 for 8
225 for 5
275 for 3
315 for 1

GHR: I pushed these out to put some added tension.
4 sets of 8 with body weight last 2-3 with less than great form.
Lying Leg Curl:
50 for 8
65 for 8
80 for 8
95 for 8
110 for 8
Walking Lunges:
2 sets of 25 per leg.
You did BBB on high bar huh? Shit

Yeah it fucking blew seriously. But, I need some reps to force this tech change and some volume to make these quads and glutes come to life and in a hurry. BBB is definitely good for that if nothing else.

Squat and Speed Pulls
Today I was supposed to work on techniques with a friend of mine who is a relatively good High Bar Guy (700 raw at 242). How ever I knew with him and the other guys going heavy this would not happen. But, either way learned some good tech cues, improved form a lot, and wound up hitting a PR.
Back Squats:
135 for 3 sets of 8
225 for 2 sets of 5
275 for 1 set of 5
315 for 2 sets of 3
365 for 3 sets of 3, 1 set of 5, 1 set of 6
- Add Light Reverse Bands-
405 for 5
455 for 5
495 for 5 - Add Self Wrapped Knee Wrap-
545 for 5 - This is a 15lbs PR and done with a lighter band.
Still getting used to a High Bar and more narrower stance, but I feel 1000x more comfortable and very happy with this.
Pause at the Knee Speed Pulls against Yellow Band:
315 for 8 sets of 1 + Band Weight
3 sets of Chins with body weight for 10 reps.
Really good work with the high bar Reed! Were those olympic shoes?
Yeah MightyMouse they are. I tried it with my chucks and just a no go.

I just bought some adipowers for stuff like stones/deads and presses. What’s your experience with those on aforementioned lifts?

Same ones I have had for years. I love them for Presses of all kinds use them even for strict presses. For stones they really helped with the initial pop out of the lap but, seemed to male higher heights more challenging. Deads they help you break off the floor but harder up top but, if you have straps and a hitch which Strongman allows can make a huge difference. I know some people say they aren’t the most stable but up to 545 yesterday and didn’t notice a thing.y friend who helped has same and went 685 yesterday for 5 reverse bands and they looked as solid as ever.

Awesome. I’ve heard only good things about them, and I’d only be helping my retardly tight hips and ankles.
Hey Reed, I remember some months ago you posted about the reactive slingshot. I was wondering what size you have and how it fits. I’m 5’4 146 so I’m not sure if I should get the s/m or the large.
Mine is actually a xl from when I was 240 and it still works pretty well now. How ever I’m 5’6" 210 maybe more after holiday haha. There is a size chart to help but I wouldn’t go over a medium if I was you. I personally need to get a size smaller to get the full effect of the Sling.

Well?

Haven’t tried I wanted today but every one of my training partners said not to try and just stick to what’s working and wait for March and fun for 600+ so I guess that’s what I’m going to do. How ever strapped in and probably hitched I feel I’m good for it
