Does ones diet need this? I know it can boost t-levels and is very nutritious but, is it a nessesicty or can one go without it? The reason i ask is because it hard and expnsive to have a fresh slab of steak everyday. thanks.
Do you NEED red meat? NEED it? Just be damn thankful that God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to provide mankind with something as tasty as the cow. Red meat= yummy.
hard and expensive? what, the lean steak is usually the cheapest. 50g of protein from beef is only about 200g raw, which when cooked is bugger all. I had 3 steaks today, mmmmm beeeeef
Try hamburger instead of the steak. It’s a lot cheaper.
No.

what about ground beef? its 1.88 for the good stuff at sams.
No, you don’t need it, but it’s always good to get some variety in there. Plus, it’s damn tasty.
I don’t know that it necessarily needs to be “fresh” – I buy frozen flank steaks at Trader Joe’s, cut from grass-fed cattle, and they work well.
As for “need,” I don’t think you need any particular kind of protein EVERY day – in fact, I think mixing up your primary sources between fish, fowl and red meat is a good thing.
No, you don’t need it. But you could get some hamburger meat as mentioned.
What you should do is buy some liver once a week and cook that up. Now THAT’S good for you.
If we weren’t meant to eat cows, they wouldn’t naturally be so darn tasty.
Another option to ground beef (patties, chilly, etc.), is to make a beef stew.
We get the meat at Sam’s and divide the package into 2. My wife makes it so good and tender with some carrots and garbanzo beans.
I will be having that for lunch today.

You can purchase economical cuts of red meat. Price is no excuse. Try eating chicken everyday. That’s more expensive. You can live without, but red meat is one of the healthiest foods you can consume, regardless of whether you are lifting or not.
I got a package of certified angus eye of round for my late afternoon meal. It’s .6 lb and cost $2.37. You can spend more for a latte but it won’t make you lean and muscular.
I don’t eat beef every day but a few times a week is good for you and won’t break the bank unless you live under a bridge in a cardboard box.
How long can you keep the red meat in your fridge/freezer for and a lean slab of meat has how much fat in it, lets say per .5 lb?
For my last contest, red meat became a staple as the contest was nearing. It helped me maintain the all important LBM as I lost those last vestiges of BF.
I eat red meat every other day, literally. It may not be important to include for some; but for me it is. Especially when I want to get big and strong!
