I didn’t realize the internet was that old.
Also, I’m with beans on the whole ‘how you fix the boards’ thing. I don’t think things will get better until contributors to the boards decide to put a lot of things behind them. It would certainly go a long way.
Glad you’re still here Stu, keep being awesome ![]()

I guess when you’re a DYEL’er who’s only contributions to this site are GAL and PWI
Hey, c’mon now, no need to belittle others.
I imagine that the overwhelming majority of people who frequent this site are non-contributors.
Besides, you wouldn’t want me contributing…I would just be talking out of my ass.
It’s kind of like Syksz said, a lot of things have been discussed at length from all angles. Search function is useful for us less accomplished folks.
I get what you’re saying and I have no problems with people who want to lurk or only want to post in GAL & PWI
BUT I do have a problem with someone like that sayin stu should go.
Stu has provided countless tidbits of information on this site with the pure intent of helping.
He wasnt getting paid, no google youtubes monies going his way.
Just the genuine love to help fellow lifters.
Yes, most things about lifting have been written but guys like Stu have so much more to offer than sets and reps.
Look at how his Poptart fetish has blown up around here?
I think he’s the only reason PopTarts didn’t go the way of the Twinkie ![]()
How many times have you heard guys complaining on this site, in the gym, on Facebook or in real life about not being able to do something because of their schedule?
It could be getting to the gym, getting the right amount of food, getting the right types of food or whatever?
Guys complain about all this but look at Stu!
He is has his pro cards in multi Feds.
He has THREE college degree.
He has a full time career (and then some)
He is married with a family.
He judges bodybuilding shows.
He trains recreational bodybuilders
He trains NFL and NBA athletes for crying out loud!!!
He manages to do all that and still keep a level head while sharing tons of good info here!
THAT is someone to learn from.
Maybe it’s not about sets and reps but maybe it’s about finding a life balance?
So no, there is nothing wrong with not contributing to the lifting and nutrition forums but when someone tries to say “IDGAF, leave the site” to someone like stu I get upset.
I’m sure you can see the wealth of potential knowledge that some are willing to throw out with the bath water.
Me?
I’m not one of them.
/rant
That rant wasnt directed at you by the way, I was just speaking my peace.

That sure is a nice thumb in that picture.
I mean, whoever made that exact Pop-Tart sandwich pictured, is probably a really smart, attractive guy, who should get all the credit for his glorious invention.

Lol, yeah, I kinda stole that pic from ‘someone’ I know on FB. Gotta give credit where it’s due ![]()
@Smashing Weights- I do appreciate the nice little run down of my credits and finer points (I have 3 degrees, for the record -lol), but I never want it to seem like bullet points alone define anyone. I like to think the way I’ve conducted myself on here over the years speaks well enough. Thank you though.

I love you Stuart.
Just thought you should know.
I’m getting banned aren’t I

I won’t say it lol
While I only started reading here in '05 or '06, I’ve still been around for a minute, and agree with all of stu’s sentiment. This used to be where I looked to to get more advanced knowledge of lifting, and lively discussion that was largely kept on topic in the bodybuilding forum (powerlifting forum, past or present, never has seemed to be plagued with these issues…speaks of a certain mindset perhaps haha). I hope the good discussion to shitstorm thread ratio improves, because I’d hate to find a place I’ve been involved in for a good deal to become useless.

DYEL? NO. Working in the steel industry as a welder/fabricator, cutting hammering bending fitting and otherwise manipulating the materials for 10 hrs/day usually 6 days a week has taken it out of me. The last thing I want to do when I get home is grab a couple hundred more lbs. of steel and start tossing it around the basement. I get into some weekend warrior sessions now and then, but as for training with the purpose and consistency I used to go at it with- NO.

What a pussy.
Ha ha ha ha!
True story – my first set of weights was made in (and smuggled out of) one of our mills.
I keep wanting to build a squat rack but really, what am I gonna do with it? Kegels?
I just finished a contract over in your old neck of the woods. A few places are really coming back to life over there.
Chushin wrote:
You could always teach that new baby how to squat. Time will pass quickly (says the old man)!

Oh, he squats! And bridges, rows and does pull ups too!
It’s probably something I’ve just never noticed with infants, but his traps, lats, and delts are actually pretty well developed.
Thats probably fodder for a whole other thread though.
