While I found that post funny, those jokes will probably have to stop if the board can get any better. I mean, it’s one thing if they’re made in a playful manner with someone you have a good relationship with, but it’s another thing if it’s known that you don’t like the person you’re making fun of. It’s the same thing in real life, if I don’t like someone, I don’t joke around with them. If I do like someone, I can make fun of them all day with no hard feelings, you know?

For any of this to work, it’s going to need a change from everyone on the boards.

For what it’s worth Stu, you write well and if you did write articles I’d read them

Even pop tart oriented ones!

I thought it was a pretty good post.

When those types of idiotic posts stop so will the jokes because they aren’t relevant.
Well I guess not completely but for the most part.
I mean the trap meme still pops up every now and then as well as holding up a shoe for accurate BF assessment and putting creatine I your socks.

My guess is that the jokes will pretty much stop if a certain “presence” is no longer, well, present. But when you have an individual claiming such authority and a documented track record of saying such preposterously stupid things, they will rightfully be brought up early and often in arguments.

Omg stupid pics. 1st meal isn’t for 3 hrs and yesterday was low carb cal so I am starving.

I consider myself a pretty reasonable guy and I don’t think those posts by PX were any more reasonable than you do. That being said, part of CB’s post was about history being history, and I think it’s reasonable to assume that anyone who cares about the state of these boards will agree that those kinds of posts probably need to stop for the boards to get better.

Some of you guys are acting like PX has never contributed anything of value here and that’s preposterous, IMO. No poster has had more people thank them over the years than PX. He adds value here if he can keep a leash on his posting style (which needs to happen).

Like I said, it’s not 1 side at fault for all of this, it’s both sides and that needs to be realized id anything is going to improve.

I don’t want you to take my post as an attack because I think you add a ton of value as well.

We have had a love affair in the past… you probably don’t even remember my name… But I think I still have feelings for you after this post.

I hear ya Lanky.
I was just giving CB a hard time.
People take this site and these last two Stu threads way too seriously.
It’s funny that this turned into a PX thread when Stu never said anything about him in the OP.

I just find it ironic that people jump in here to scale Stu sensitive and tell people they should just ignore X if they don’t like what he says since they are doing the exact same thing they are doing the same thing that they hate lol

Prof X CAN add value but IMO hasn’t done so in the training and nutrition forums in a long time.
Virtually every post is some variation “genetics” and/or “find what works for you.”
While these are both valid points what good does that do anyone?
Everyone knows genetics play a huge role and that doing something that isn’t working well, isn’t going to work lol

A bit of specific advice or tips is what adds value here.
Along with bringing the lulz to keep the mood light.
Disagreeing with every post that doesn’t fit with your mantra or philosophy doesn’t add value.

Anyway, I’m here to joke around a bit, kill some time while work is slow, get the occasional tip for lifting/diet and learn something occasionally when an actual intelligent discussion happens.

Jim Wendler says, Arguing over anything on the internet is gay ! The point is I still recomend this site to kids just starting out in the game. I tell them to stop going to other sites, and stop buying, mags, and get their info from T Nation, Starting strength, strong lifts, Jim Wendler, or purchasing books. I feel there is still alot of fundemental lifting info here. At some point you realize from a lifting stand point there’s been nothing new in 30yrs, so it’s the same old thing, rewriten over and over.

Atleast T Nation dosen’t buy into or recomend glitsy fads, routines and products, that are confusing and time wasting for newbs, like BBing.com and others do. I have thought of leaving this site myself, after a troll attack or two, but the first year of lifting is so important for beginers, to settle in with a good program, and get the right info.

To realize this is a life long journey, and not 8 weeks to the new you, and I like to help with that. It’s sad to see so maney great writters and posters leave here recently, and I’d hate to see the mighty Stu become part of the list. 2cents

Yes this is how I feel about this site as well.

Honest question: Are you intentionally ignoring my points, or was my post unclear?

There was not, and is not, any attempt on my part to single you or anyone else out other than to show a tired “joke” that has been over played, and gone from a positive into a negative.

That “joke”, at this point, given the circumstances, certainly isn’t trying to solve the problem. It is blatantly inflammatory. Now, if you are fine with that, then carry on. However it would be odd coming from someone who obviously cares about the quality of the boards.

I remember your name and remember your old avatar, but do not remember our love affair, haha. Sorry about that. I’ve got way too many posts here.

I didn’t see this before I responded. Pretend my last post didn’t happen.

Not a big deal.
I don’t really disagree with what you wrote but this is GAL after all.

Hey, c’mon now, no need to belittle others.

I imagine that the overwhelming majority of people who frequent this site are non-contributors.

Besides, you wouldn’t want me contributing…I would just be talking out of my ass.

It’s kind of like Syksz said, a lot of things have been discussed at length from all angles. Search function is useful for us less accomplished folks.

That sure is a nice thumb in that picture.

I mean, whoever made that exact Pop-Tart sandwich pictured, is probably a really smart, attractive guy, who should get all the credit for his glorious invention.

There’s a search function? I guess I am one of the lesser of the less accomplished folks.

Being an Endomorph that picture just made me gain 10 lbs.

I just realized I’ve been coming to this website for 15 years (since May 98). It is literally one of the first websites I ever found.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry about that.
