Yes, my comment was not accurate. You are correct, it is impossible to generalize men and women in terms of their discipline. I suppose my personal experience/observations will bias my opinions to some extent.

Eighty percent, huh? And just the women, the men are all golden? If I believed your stat and went with your unspoken implication that men do not have debt they pay through marriage, I might wonder if the age difference in marrying couples might account for the difference in debt levels. Men are earning more because they have worked longer and advanced further post-college. When a couple marries, the dual income/single household allows everyone more financial leeway.

That doesn’t mean shit. There is a vast difference between the ditz who runs up thousands of dollars of credit card debt buying designer shoes, and the woman who’s paying a morgage or car loan.
For all the ladies who are saying there are men who exploit women for financial gain and or money problems I know exactly what you mean. My father is of this type and I hate him for it. I hate being related to a sneaky fat prick like him. He lacks the testicular fortitude to walk our frickin dog. He just got fired from his job and sits at home all day while my mom pays the mortgage, for my school, for groceries, and for all the utilities.
I’m not anti social by any means, but in general I hate people. Everyone seems like an idiot these days. Perhaps I am percieved as the same, but I hope not. After college I already have plans to move in with one of my oldest and yet still best friend who happens to be a girl. I don’t know where it would go from there, but she doesn’t waste money on designer clothes or any of the usual garbage associated with steriotypical women. She takes care of buisness first and doesn’t take bull$hit.
Just my two examples of exceptions to how most of the posters in this forum are leaning.
EDIT: Most of the people who have made it to this site I would not consider idiots. But there are a few. But alot of us still jump the gun and point to broad a finger without looking at it from all sides and taking note of exceptions.
