The only good thing about these stories is that men like us get more and more disgusted with marriage that it becomes less likely to destroy our lives. If women have such low discipline to drill themselves $42,000 in debt and even consider marriage knowing this fact, then I cannot see how she won any kind of lawsuit.
The fucking you get, aint worth the fuckin’ you get.

Just be sure to marry a girl who goes to church and does so seriously — someone with morals. Sure, no guarantees, but that’s life.
It helps if your wife inherits a mansion, 4 million dollars, and earns over 100k teaching at a university. Just sayin’… :-D[/quote]
of course because those who are deeply religious are never blatant hypocrites

Profound beyond words.

I don’t know about equal rights. They want to be treated better (well, at least a lot of women do). The sane ones actually go for equal rights, but a lot of those are hard to find nowadays.
It doesn’t even take a legal marriage to financial break a man.
A buddy of mine bought a house with a woman nearly three years ago. At the time, he owned a nice house of his own overlooking a river, and had about 150K saved for retirement. The river house was going to be his retirement estate in 25 years or so.
Shortly after they bought the house together she began pressuring him to sell he river house. He wouldn’t. She had a few horses, and wanted him to contribute more than half of the expenses at the new house to cover her horse expenses. Then, after they bought the house, with his cash down payment, she dropped the bomb that she had 100K of student loans coming out of deferment in a couple months.
Then the bitch went from 2 horses to 6 during the past three years, and he went from 150K in retirement assets to flat broke. To make matters worse, he just got laid off from a job he’s had for the past 12 years.
The river house is now up for sale. He is still with her. We’ll see how long that lasts since he is now without a job.

I wish you didn’t post that. I am suddenly very angry, and I am going to hit the bag now.

Sorry to ruin your mood man.
I’ve been trying to talk him into ditching her for most of the last 3 years, and his response is always something like “well, you only hear the bad stuff”
Still waiting to hear the good stuff…

This one doesn’t make me angry.
It falls into the category of “his own damned fault.”

Yeah, if you’re too blind and deaf to see what’s going on, then, well - harsh as it sounds - you’re going to learn the hard way.
I hope it doesn’t get much worse for him.

If women…?? Dude. ONE woman.
Some women have more discipline than most people of either sex. Other women have very little discipline. Some men have no self-control! But some men DO have it. See how it works? People are all different! Boys are, girls are. It works the same way for both. Sometimes men even exploit women for money. It’s a hard world!
I swear to God, y’all are giving me PMS and it’s not even time for my period.

Made me LOL.
Stupid women like this give us all a bad name. When I got divorced, I asked for nothing that I didn’t own before the marriage. I had to lie about my income because spousal support is decided on by the court, whether you want it or not and I didn’t want it.
She made the choice to quit her high paying job on a promise from a man that she had a history of a failed relationship with. What a moron.

I agree that she’s a moron, but why does it give us all a bad name? I heard about a man arrested while wearing a giant penis costume the other day. Does that give all men a bad name? Do we have to worry that no sooner will we marry one than he’ll pull his penis outfit out of the closet and go off dressed in it?
Stupid women give only themselves a bad name. Well, and the men stupid enough to get involved with one of them. Like attracted to like and all that.
Alex, were you away on vacation? I missed you.
