You serious?

If you have to use steroids before hitting puberty, you probably won’t have the genetics to be the fastest human on Earth.
While I agree his post is stupid. I don’t agree that someone only take steriods or PEDs Becuase they have to. They take them to improve. I see no reason why a young person wouldn’t take them just to be even better. Our RB in Hs was dominant and couldn’t be stopped before roids. His senior yr he still decided to take them.
Really?

If you have to take steroids to beat your opponents at that age, you damn sure won’t be beating every single person down the pike for the rest of your life.
Like I said you are making the assumption just Becuase he was beating everyone he wouldn’t feel the need to take them. For someone like him he competes with the clock as much as the person next to him. So maybe he was stagnating in his times slightly or not improving them fast enough but still dominating everyone. He would still possibly feel the need for some extra help.

There kind of is a way to know. Look at his growth through to adulthood. One of the risks of early test usage is stunting growth by causing an early response in the closing of growth plates. This usually takes place in early 20’s with that last big surge of natural test production, but can happen early due to aas use.
question to anyone is there actually proof of the closing of growth plats. I’ve heard it but never seen any concrete info
It’s pretty much accepted as fact. Estrogen closes growth plates (that’s the main reason women are smaller than men). Testosterone converts to estrogen so the more testosterone produced, the higher the levels of estrogen and the faster the rate of growth plate closure.
So still no studies ect
If used with any intelligence estrogen won’t go up and also some people covert much less to estrogen.
While true, name the last time a 15 year old used anything with intelligence. Especially something as dangerous as hormonal drugs. Also, although I don’t really want to go digging, I mentioned above AAS were prescribed early on for stunted growth in kids or underweight children in the age before anti-aromatases were invented. So it is conceivable there are some studies noting the phenomenon being correlated are out there, decades old. I don’t care enough to go look though lol.
So you are saying they were used to stimulate growth? While the other poster is saying they stop growth…huh
ryanbCXG wrote:

They were used as weight control. In the 60’s and before, there was much literature and studies “proving” that steroids did NOT aid muscle mass.

If thinking that way helps you sleep at night, so be it.

But no, it doesn’t make sense that someone that advanced would be using steroids at 15 years of age and maintain elite status to become the greatest.

As usual you miss information. Some steriods have been used to help stunted growth.

GH has been used to help stunted growth, not steroids. Steroids have been used with UNDER WEIGHT children in the past.

What info was missed? I already know this shit…and knew it before you apparently.

I didn’t say that steroids were used for growth.

It would be unethical to conduct studies on minors which may harm them wouldn’t it?

Anyways, what I was alluding to is that at 6’5", he doesn’t appear to suffer from stunted growth.

Stimulate muscle growth yes, long bone growth no. X is right in that they were used in under weight kids, to try and normalize them in the weight category, but not to stimulate long bone growth. And in any case this is 50+ year old science so it has little applicability any more due to modern research on growth plates, standard practices in medical care of juveniles, or the obesity epidemic. Essentially this is history now.

I agreed with you in my other post and wasn’t arguing with you, just elaborating. For other posters, as it were.

Got ya

Sme of the growth factors I would argue would be able to stimulate bone growth as well as just an over anabolic environment. But so much digression.

The real question is. Will the bolt ever get to a 9.0

noow that’s a good question! I have no idea…it seems like he’s just the freak to do it, and it seems like he’s letting up at the end of his races with more in the tank. who knows?? 9.0 might be a crap shoot, but if he stays healthy I can pretty much guarantee he runs a 9.4. so crazy.

Seemed to fit with where this thread went.

I still think he is probably the most naturally talented sprinter to ever live, however, in a sport where winning and losing is .3 secs you have to do what you have to do to make sure your natural abilities aren’t left in the dust.
jbpick86 wrote:

Oh, really?

Are they going to do the same with the American, French, British and Canadian teams too?

They’ve got no proof Usain uses PEDs and yet, they plan to ban him based on the mistakes of his team mates? That’s fucking ridiculous.

That seems ridiculous…banning an athlete because of other people from his country?

WTF?
