Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

Honestly, that still sounds low to me. I can’t imagine many guys who take 600 mg test for 6 months add ~25 lbs LBM. I think people underestimate how hard it is to gain lean mass on moderate doses of T.

I don’t know much about cycles beyond what is bandied about with these TRT forums and what I hear on podcasts (JRE, Stronger by Science, etc). I imagine I would be surprised by the numbers. Im sure 400-600mg of test a week is a lot of guys’ cruise dose.

The cruise dose for many Strongmen, from what I understand - I can’t really know for sure - was 1 gram wen I competed. I would expect BBers to not be doing less than that.

Holy fucking shit. I think I am really naive with this stuff. How can Thibs say you’re on a steroid cycle at 200mg a week when these guys are pushing 10 times that amount or more? I mean what do their bloods look like?

I’m not saying it’s a good idea, I think a lot of guys discover as amateurs that they can’t actually run that and so you never hear of them. The stuff that gets run is eye-opening to say the least. Adrenaline shot before an event, whatever they can’t or don’t test for. Or in the case of at least one guy, even what they do test for.

I am only somewhat familiar with strongman, but PLing involves some pretty crazy cruises. I only know what people have told me they take.

Guy 1: 500 mg/wk Test E
Guy 2: 500 mg/wk Test E
Guy 3: 300 mg/wk Test E and 700 mg/wk EQ
Guy 4: 1200 mg/wk Test E

These are cruise doses, and don’t include the two individuals I know, that I suspect are abusing the most.

I can only assume that these dudes are adequately unhealthy due to their drug abuse? Is it safe to assume that most PLers and Strongmen are abusing? I guess it makes sense, I just never considered it.

I will say that all but one of these guys is pretty impressive as far as strength goes. I am not saying it is always true, but most of the guys with really good lifts IMO are probably abusing somewhat. Maybe some genetic outlier out there is benching 600 lbs natty at 250, but I think the majority that accomplish things like that are abusing.

Guy 1 is now off the sauce and smashed all his gear vials after getting what I assume was bad news from his Dr (I know he did it after a Dr visit), and his blasts were crazy.

Guy 2 was the not so impressive one, and he has quit working out, and quit using AAS.

Guy 3 is still on that cruise and does not blast anymore, but has told me his Dr is telling him to get off.

Guy 4 is a freak of nature (deadlifts low 800s and benches low 400s at 6’ and 205 lbs) and young (22), so I am not sure he has had anything bad yet.

Yeah but at what cost? Physically AND financially.

I updated my post above. Cost is really minor here, health is the big thing.

Yeah, I couldn’t believe that one. What was the point? Clearly some guys on TRT need more. Just a stupid argument.

You can gain a good 10-15 lbs of LBM from 12 weeks of 500mg of T if for diet & routine are optimal. Especially your first 500mg cycle. That 10 lbs will be extremely noticeable. One of the pluses of being on TRT is you have a better ability to retain the gains you make. Also, the more muscle you have to start with the less you’ll gain.

When I was in my early 20’s and had never lifted weights I was given Boldenone and did a 16 week cycle. The first 8 weeks I was only on 200mg and gained 20 lbs then the last 8 weeks I was on 400mg and gained another 8. Someone that already had a good base likely wouldn’t have near the same results. Of course I was retarded and didn’t do a PCT, went into a full on depression because my hormones went to shit and lost every bit of what I gained plus some and was deathly scared of steroids for the next decade.

How much fat/muscle would you estimate you gained of that 28 lbs?

Looks-wise I didn’t appear to be at a higher bf percentage than when I started. I wish I had pics from back then. It was unbelievable. Such a drastic change in such a short period that people asked me if I was on steroids. Of course I said it was just amazing genetics.

That’s incredible. I haven’t heard anything about Boldenone. Really unfortunate you didn’t have the resources to come off more smoothly and had to go through such a brutal aftermath. I bet muscle memory has played a role in your re-acquisition of mass since then, though.

I was just retarded and had no idea about steroids or PCT. Testosterone should be better than Boldenone for gaining weight. I wouldn’t do Boldenone by itself again anyway.

I was 130ish when I started that and got to 160ish. I was 187 before Corona 2.5 weeks ago but now I’m 180. If you want to lose fat and get jacked throw some Anavar on your TRT for 6-8 weeks.
