Realistic TRT Recomp Progress

Did you notice any difference with thyroid meds? Or would you attribute the substantial boost to ED injections?

I don’t take thyroid meds. I will likely start soon though if my labs show I still need them. Once I got T dialed in the thyroid stuff effected me much less. I had higher RT3 and less than ideal T3.

Same situation as me. Keep us posted. If you already feel amazing, though, might not be worth the inconvenience/cost of adding another medication, especially one that takes planning like T3.

Yeah I’ve been hesitant to mess with anything. There’s always that thought ā€œwhat if I could feel even betterā€ but the risk is there’s more of chance you won’t feel better at least for a decent amount of time until everything settles and you work out the right dosing. Right now it’s not worth it to me but I know as soon as I do labs and it shows something the devil on my shoulder will likely get the better of me.

I definitely get that. How’s your energy throughout the day? Given that libido is on point, that’s the one other thing I’d think about. Timing T3 can be a pain in the ass, as you obviously know, and the cost definitely adds up. It’s not a huge deal but my policy is the fewer meds the better.

My energy is pretty good but I must get 8 hrs of sleep or I get nothing that day from TRT. Occasionally I can get by with 7. That and reducing stressors when possible. It’s weird because I used to be fine on 5-6 hrs of sleep. I didn’t feel amazing but I could get things done. Now if I get 5 hrs of sleeps it’s akin to a hangover.

I’m considering treating thyroid again too. Haven’t tested lately but I’m so exhausted and cold most of the time I think it could help. Let us know if you do try it

How’s your food intake? I sometimes feel that way when I’m in a prolonged deficit

I honestly don’t really know but I’m about 15lbs over what I used to weigh and staying pretty steady now. I guess I could start keeping up with what I eat and see where I’m at

Is this just time in bed, or does 8 hours count a mix of deep sleep, light sleep and REM, while subtracting any time awake?

Like eyes closed and asleep. I fall asleep quickly

That m99 is the real deal

I thought the same, then I tracked my sleep and found I wake up a bunch middle of the night. Although I think getting enough ā€œdeep sleepā€ is what matters most.

Until very recently I woke up to piss twice a night but lately I’ve been sleeping much better.

What are you using to do this?

I use the Oura ring. Think it’s the most accurate on the market, and it’s so small and light it doesn’t impact my quality of sleep.

That looks really cool. Not sure I can justify $300 for it but I’m interested

A lot of the big-time health folks and pro athletes use these. Feel the same way about it; fascinating but expensive. Also heard you have to make sure not to lift with it on.

If you’re gaining weight or staying steady, it sounds like that’s not your issue. But I would advise tracking what you eat anyway. It’s so illuminating. I’ve become so aware of the intricacies of everything I consume and how it’ll impact my body.

This might be a no-brainer for a lot of people, but I only recently learned about massaging the injection site post-injection, and it’s been a big help with preventing lumps and soreness. I use the alcohol wipe to rub the area immediately post-injection and highly advise doing the same if you’re getting little bumps or feeling any soreness.
