I know what you mean by humbling Blue. Hopefully proper form will have us burst beyond our previous PR’s (or atleast that is what I am telling my foolish pride when it’s acting up).
trying to catch up here RBlue. (can we call you rachel or is that only for Big M?) i’m being serious, btw…
very nice squatting. i’m super envious of you all that can put up those big numbers. i don’t think PL is in the cards for me but i will continue to try and move up. your bod is rockin (also finally skimmed through the dark side)
uh, i don’t see your allegedly thick (dare you say fat?!) arms. you look fantastic. lucky to have Big M and that M.A.T. stuff. ![]()
Sounds like you and M had a good session! It SUCKS to lower the weight to work on form but it’s SO necessary! (I am battling my ego right now as well!)
Very cool, RBlue, that MAT stuff. Wish I had access to such tools. Like I said, you’re so very close on the squats. Don’t think it will take you any time at all to be back up where you were with super duper depth.
Does Big M ever visit Colorado?
For those of you interested in finding out more regarding MAT feel free to PM me and I’ll see if I can help you find a practitioner in your area!
M.
Hey girl, just popping in to tell you that I think you’re squats looked great! And aside from what everyone mentioned re: depth, you kept the back nice and tight - so you’re already in awesome shape re: form wise.
Dropping weight makes sense tho, so good on you checking the ego.
As for everything else - bench and krocs are awesome! Well done!
Big M. thanks for the info - Maybe I will look into this in my area!
Nlmain - absolutely!! We’re gonna have to suck it up for now, but I’m sure you and I will both get stronger as a result!
Talenaah - He’s calling me Rach, short for Rachelle. You’re all absolutely welcome to call me that!
And THANK YOU for the compliments, you’re a sweetie! ![]()
Mmgalb - It was a great session! Glad to know I’m in such good company.
Kpsnap - I’m extremely lucky to have access to M & his MAT knowledge!! You should def. PM him if you’re interested in finding someone in your area.
Masch - Thanks for dropping in, and for the words of encouragement!!
Just got home from St. Patty’s day celebrations, so please excuse me for any typos! ![]()
Training:
(1) Deadlift 3x3: 165 lbs/190 lbs/215 lbs x 3
- Where oh where did my 6 reps at 215 go?? Although, all my warmup & working sets prior to this one felt really great after my warmup & the isometric exercises…
(2) DB Bulgarian Split Squat with front foot elevated 4x6: 35 lbs
(3) Good Morning 3x10 95 lbs/105 lbs x 2
(4) 1-leg DB RDL 3x10: 30 lbs
- last time I got 15 reps each leg with this weight. However, this time around, my left hamstring actually felt somewhat fatigued when I started this exercise, which I think is a really great sign that it was actually activated and doing some work throughout the rest of today’s workout!
Was planning on doing some DB farmer’s walks, but I was feeling pretty tired, so called it a day at that.
did you do all that before or after the St.Paty’s day craziness??? just teasin.

LOL
Today’s training: Felt like doing a lot of stuff today
(1) BB OHP 3x3: 55x3/60x3/70x7
(2) Chin-ups (unassisted) 3xAMRAP: 3/3/2
(3a) Green band-assisted wg pullups: 10/8/8
(3b) DB Push Press 3x6: 40 lbs
(4a) T-bar row 3x15: 45 lbs
(4b) Unassisted wg dips 3x6
(5a) Alternating 1-arm DB lateral raise 3x10: 25 lbs
(5b) Alternating 1-arm DB bent-over lateral 3x10: 17.5 lbs
My shoulders were PUMPED by the end of this, and they’re finally starting to look like they’re ‘capped’!
My strength levels haven’t been great this week though. I’ve been somewhat sleep-deprived (no one’s fault but my own!), so I think that must be it.
definitely heavy DB lateral raise…yikes. in addition to some very nice OHP! hopefully you can ‘catch-up’ on some zzzzz’s soon.

Thanks T (can I call you T?)!
Just popped some Z-12, so soon I should be good to go ![]()
haaaa- i actually prefer to be called T here, and by others too.
ooohh…sleep. i either am well suited to routinely only get about 6 hours a night or i just don’t know i’m tired. not enough hours in the day…

EXACTLY! ![]()
I don’t know what I do with myself to make time fly the way it does, I just never find I’m productive at all…
… Damn, what am I still doing on here? ![]()
^haha…
and those are HEAVY lat raises! are those done with arms bent or straight up and down?
Slight bend in my arms, and I rotate my arm through the movement so my thumb faces downwards when my arm is extended. When I first started in on the 25’s I definitely used a little body English to get the weights up there too, but that’s disappeared now. ![]()
hmmm, you, me and Kimba are all missing sleep heh? I think the canadian girls might be catchin a little spring craziness.
^ I think you might be right Nlmain! Although it didn’t feel much like spring today… I saw FLURRIES while I was at work.
Training:
Went in to the gym for some metabolic training after work today.
Body weight circuit x5:
Squat x10
Pushup x10
Inverted row x10
1-leg squat/front lunge x10 per leg
1-leg hip thruster (shoulders and feet on benches) x10 per leg
I started off doing single-leg squats (with my non-working leg behind me, touching knee to floor), but I ended up cheating too much on them, so switched to the lunges for my last 3 sets of the circuit.
I felt fried after this, and still feel somewhat brain-dead after eating. I’m going to take it easy tonight! ![]()
flurries? it was about 73 here today…everything in bloom. although i want some flurries on the mountain so i can go snowboarding next weekend!
fried is good? as in a kick butt metabolic workout i hope!
