X2

Rachelle, I officially a fan!
Jealous you have tires…indoors…

Your training FUCKING ROCKS!!!

your squats are enviable, your bench is fantastic (I even rooted for you on the last rep - out loud. Coworker gave me a funny look) and the tire flipping is insanely awesome.

Thanks for the vid on the zerchers too - wasn’t sure what those things looked like.

Yay Blue! Keep it up girl.

major smiles

I just have to say, I love it here ladies! It’s so nice to be able to talk about training with a bunch of other women who LOVE it too, and avoid the awkward looks, and questions of: “But, why do you want to deadlift over 200 lbs? What’s a deadlift, anyway? Be careful you don’t get too big.”

Here’s a song I’m lovin’ right now:

MiM, Alisa, pch2, skye, Masch - Don’t be jealous! My invitation to CBear is of course extended to ALL you PW; if you’re ever in my area, come flip the tire with me.

Oh, and Masch, thanks for rooting for me despite the funny looks from your coworkers.

Claire - Thanks for the compliments re: form & sexy arms.

Oh, and the earmuffs were in case that lurker who started a thread regarding expletives & powerful women a while back is still around. Didn’t want to offend their delicate sensibilities.

Today’s training: Off day, did some ‘active recovery’/metabolic work

5 x circuit of:

30 x jumping jacks
20 x BW speed squats
10 x BW inverted rows
40 x mountain climbers (20 per leg)

I thought about doing burpees a la Skye, but pussied out.

Followed that up with 16 mins LISS on the stepmill. Wouldn’t have lasted that long, except my good friend’s bf was on the machine next to me, and we talked about training to get through it.

Just finished eating some ribs (Mmmmmm!), with a nice glass of Aussie cab.

That tire flip was so freakin cool. Your gym rocks. And you rock. With workouts like that no wonder you can drink wine and have hot abz too. But I don’t hate you too much.

^ No, you rock.

And you HAVE hot abz. I saw them with my own two eyes!

no YOU do!

This is such a love-in warm, fuzzy feelings

they make antibiotics for that.

Today was supposed to be deadlift day, but I woke up feeling slightly ‘blah’, which quickly progressed to feeling really shitty and run-down. So I gave myself a true off day.

Gonna try to get a good night’s sleep tonight, and try not to stress so much about my upcoming interview (Sunday!!!) and other shit going on in my life. Back at the training tomorrow.

That was smart. Get a good rest!

Exactly! Good girl and get your rest.

Good luck with the interview this weekend!

i am so late to the party. Rachelle, you are kicking some ass and looking smokin hot doing it. so envious of your bad ass gym.

get some rest. and best to you on your interview!

Good Luck on the interview! Let us know how it goes!

+1 on the interview. Go nail it!

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone! I will definitely let you all know how it goes.

Today’s training:

Still felt run-down this afternoon at work, but I forced myself to go train anyways - I figured it might help me feel better (which it did).

(1) Deadlift 3x5
65% = 160 lbs x5
75% = 185 lbs x5
85% = 210 lbs x5

=> Prior to today, I’ve been doing touch & go reps on the deadlift. Today, I forced myself to do each rep from a dead stop; I think resetting on every rep helped me keep my form nice and tight, despite my back feeling a little tired all day today. Seeing how I’ve been feeling a little shitty, too, I didn’t rep out the 210, and just stuck to the required reps.

(2) Front Squat 5x5: 95/115/135 lbs x 3 sets

(3) BB Hip Thruster 5x5: 135/185/205/225/245 lbs

(4) Single-leg squat (knee to step) 3x10

=> I don’t do these like pistols, instead I do them with my non-working leg bent & held out behind me; the position feels more natural to me.

(5) Single-leg lying ham curl 5x5: 3 plates

=> Final 2 sets for left leg only.

I’m feeling TONS better after training. Hope everyone’s having a great Friday night!

I’ve made the same change with my DL: resetting between each rep. Otherwise, I start pulling with my back. I can’t remember . . . are you conventional?

I MUST try this BB hip thrust that you and Kimba do. I’ll do it Sunday. Is the bar resting on your pubic bone or where?

Yes, I’ve been pulling conventional pretty much exclusively for the last year.

And yes, the bar rests pretty much on the pubic bone. I use the pussy pad for this, or wrap a towel around the bar, because it can get pretty painful. Just play around with the placement until you find a spot that feels most comfortable.
