LOL Why don’t you work the Wilks points for Andy Bolton’s WR deadlift. Someone whos’s 60kg lifting 180 is somehow a greater feet of strength. Jog on pal LOL!
Comparison of lifts based only on BW inherantly favour smaller lifters, hence equations were formulated for this purpose.
Personally, and like most others, I am impressed by both relative and absolute displays of strength.
Finally, someone whose IQ is high enough to realize that I was breaking balls… Either way, a 132 pound dude pulling 400 pounds is sort of impressive don’t you think?
And even though I was breaking balls, this fatso looks just like a gorilla in the zoo to the “T”.
You’re all stronger than me. I’m now inspired to hit the weights even harder to become Canada’s Stongest Accountant at 200 lbs. I realize there’s no such category, but still it’s my dream.
Current Stats: BP 345, SQT 405, D/L 455 RAW.
Lift Stong and Prosper,
TKO
Ps I’ve personally found that the belt gave me a boost of 20-30 pounds. Only in the last 6 mos I’ve started training without one as something new to do.

Canada’s Strongest Accountant… that’s some funny shit, man. Thanks for the respect, but know this before you give me too much: your bench blows mine out of the fuckin’ water.
What was that lift for that fat slob Mark Henry? Was that double bodyweight or maybe 1.86?
Jesus christ, heres comes the “I have justify being weaker to others by relative strength” moron.
He weighs 400 lbs. and is a fat slob.
Oh fuck off you moron. He weighs 400lb and is stronger than more than 99% of the people in the whole goddamn world.
If you want to suck the cock of a 400 pound juiced up gorilla, cellulite supremacist, that’s fine. However, I have seen people do 3 times bodyweight raw. He weighs 400 pounds for fuck’s sake!

haha, yeah, Julie want’s to suck the cock of the old-time lifters who were strong AND beautiful!! Come on Hanley, didnt you know that the Strength Sports forum was a beauty pageant now?

Wow, he’d want to be careful he doesn’t catch anything. Sure didn’t Eugene Sandow die of complications relating to syphilis (after pulling the car out of the ditch of course!).

Come on man didn’t you know if someone weighs over 220 they aren’t a strength athlete? Just some fat guy who lifts weights! [/sarcasm]

You weigh under 200 and you’re an internet lifter.
And you are a rather obese midget. Maybe you’ll get an acting gig as a hobbit in the next Lord of the Dough nut Rings sequel…
Oh, I see what you’re trying to do here. Calling me a midget refers to me being shorter than the average person, right? It’s like hyperbole right, since I’m not actually a midget. And the “obese” part must refer to my weight listed in my profile. You must think 230 is awfully heavy for someone who is 5’6" so naturally you assume I am obese.
The problem is, you’re wrong on both counts. I’m not a midget, nor am I obese. But in my post to you, I spoke the truth. You are under 200 pounds (at least according to your profile) and you are an internet lifter. So while you tried, and failed, to insult me with exaggeration and untruth, you were apparently insulted by the truth. Poor child.

Haha this is absolutely classic. I know he’s ruffled a few feathers before but I’ve never seen him get burned this bad. It’s hilarious how he keeps coming back for more!!
He probably won’t say anything controversial again for 3 months or so now.
Wow…Lively debate and lots of oppinions on both sides.
So as a newbie who used to be fairly competitive (242lbs - PBs - Bench 505, Squat 740, DL 650)…about 10 years ago and just getting back in…
Aren’t belts and wraps all about preventing injury, and not necessarily jumping your weights up?
I will tell you from my personal experience and having worked out with a lot of national champs including a +1000lb squater…I have never seen anyone do anywhere near their max without the gear.
Not becuase it adds weight, but becuase there was already to too great a risk of injury with the gear, let alone by going without.
I think it is all dependant on what a person feels comfortable with, and the way he learned/progressed. I see guys in my gym DL’in 65 lbs with a grimace, in a thick belt, gloves, and wriststraps. (not joking).
I personally have been lifting heavy for about a year, and I don’t own a belt, or wriststraps. my PR’s are DL 570, Squat 480, and bench 320. I am 6’-3" and 305 lbs however, so maybe it isn’t that big a deal.
The strange thing is, I have never seen anyone DL or Squat more in my gym, because most people just follow suit with what is being done by the average everyday gymrats where they start. If it wasn’t for T-Nation, I would never have known I could do more.
There are numerous guys benching 400 amazingly, but when I DL, or Squat they look at me like I’m nuts… and whether they are doing concentration curls or cable flyes…, they always have a belt on.

Unlike you, some internet jerkoff weakling with all of those posts on a webboard, I have a career and a family so this is why I don’t post too much here.

Haha you’re funny.
This week I spent about 20 hours filling out application forms for graduate positions in international accounting firms, I spent another 25 hours in college, only managed about 10 hours of study, I’m just home from my part time job, hopefully I’ll get about 6 hours of sleep before I have to get up and squat tomorrow, I’ll be lucky to see my girlfriend anytime in the next few days because time is so short, oh and I’m 4 weeks out from the world drug free powerlifitng championships so I’m trying to fit in preparing for that somewhere too.
I guess I have it easy tho.
I mean I could be lucky and be like you, a family man with a career, arguing with a college kid about about “realative strength”. And when people won’t accept my point I could resort to racist slurs and personal insults.
This man here, has deadlifted 880 lbs beltless in competition. I’d consider these deads here beltless too - simply because the belt is so high that it’s not going to add any lumbar support.
