But to give your question a straight answer, if a suit like that existed and if it were legal for competition, I’d say Reza better get with it or get left behind.

If a suit like that existed for Olympic lifting then a LOT of people will drop the sport, and take it one hell of lot less seriously.
(btw… they gotta change the weight categories otherwise it will be a LONG, LONG, LONG TIME before a world record is broken).
Now HOLD ON A MINUTE before i start getting flamed here…
I would like to point out that ALL SPORTS about human strength, agility, endurance, etc, have lost ground (some more that others) in the minds of people. Whether is because of steroids, gear, whatever (genes?), people now a days are very cynical about sports. Hell even folks how lift decent poundage and have a decent size are accused of being on steroids.
All sports have been damaged by scandals and stuff, the most recent that come to mind being 'roids in baseball and the top US female sprinter who had to give up her Olympic medals (forgot her name). Now whether or not “gear” and the lack of Raw competitions is hurting PL is debatable, but “I THINK” those 2 are making additional damage to the sport.
-At least for me, when I decided to cut the bull and get serious about strength the whole “gear thing” is not appealing. I don’t take anything away from the individuals, but I only see that as a strategy to lift more weight without getting stronger.
–ex: Raw bech is 750lbs, geared is 1000lbs. To me the “geared lift” tells me ur doing it for an ego trip, which is fine, but thats just what it is.

I’m not sure why everyone seems to keep harping on the issue of whether or not gear is an ego trip. Any form of competition is at least a bit of an ego trip. You can definitely learn lessons about committment etc from competition, but that holds true for geared or unequipped competitions. But I know theres nobody who is benching 400 “for their health.” Saying “I can bench xxx lbs raw” is just as much an ego trip as “I bench xxx lbs in my inzer/metal/karins”
Yesterday I put my bench shirt on for about the first time in 8 weeks. Just getting it on hurt. Then when I started to do reps I was continually on the verge of blacking out, you know that feeling when your vision narrows and everything goes blurry because you’ve no blood in your brain?
My eyes felt like they were about to pop. I woke up this morning with one side of my right eye completely red from a burst blood vessel. the rest of my face is a nice shade of purple and yellow too.
My triceps feel like a truck ran over them and my wrists and eblows were fucked afterwards.
Does this sound like an “ego” trip to anyone out there?? Do you honestly think training in gear is pleasant??? Or enjoyable??? Let me tell you something, it fucking sucks. On every rep of every set you face the very real possiblity of hurting yourself.
Trying to touch too high in your shirt? Say hello to the bar rocketing towards your throat. Not sitting back into a squat? You’ll soon see how it feels for your hips to be thrown forwards and have a fully loaded bar say fuck you and push you towards the floor.
Why the hell would someone do that to themselves eh?? Could it possibly be becasue they love their sport and everything it entails? Even if it is a pain in the arse at times?
Hey Doc,
Glad we could ease your depression.
We came up through the same era. My first meet was PA State Collegiates in 1981. There were 16 lifters at 148. I was happy cause I got 4th with a 1200 total.
Things haven’t changed as much as people try to make out. Competition is diluted and that is the real issue. A lot of people claim to want competition then demand the competition comes to them. The people that actually want competition can find it.
There are some peons with pufy little egos, but they have always been there. The real lifters are the same as they have always been.

And ur right, I DID NOT say “It was all an ego trip” no sir.
… i guess I should have made that more clear, with all the “drama” and “name calling” thats happening in this thread I should have known better…
