Thanks for stopping in DCA. SD, that’s a good question. I will do the same meet I did last year in December, but I’d like to hit one sooner if I find a local one. I’d like to do the WA state meet next year and maybe also Master’s Nationals. And, yes, I’d like to get my fatness level down to at least the 100KG class. I think the 90kg class is a little unrealistic, at least for this year. [/quote]

I think I am also shooting for the same December meet probably stay at 100 kg class as well. Just don’t feel like cutting out the beer to drop the lbs necessary to hit 90 kg.

Don’t wait too long on a local meet. You’ll end up doing them back-to-back

Waiting for vids . . .

Short deload over, 5’s day, deads, TM 440.

45 x10, 135 x10, 225 x5, 295 x5, 345 x5, 375 x8

Fischer Finisher: 345 x 5, 5, 5.

GMs (to pins at 90 degrees and unload): 135 x 5, 185 x5, 225 x 5, 255 x3 (weight/rep PR).

Notes: I got busy with some work and took a little deload. My joints needed it. I had a few left on my money set but my belt was all over the place. I think my fatness level is going down some. I am going to leave the belt off from now on for 5 or more reps. I worked in with some skinny kids doing 1/4 squats for the GMs. Fortunately, the weight they were doing worked out about right. I need to get stronger on these.

Videos please.

Sorry the 455 didn’t go up but it isn’t surprising. It sounds like a brain issue. Sometimes we let our brains talk for us. I’m a big offender with that. Sometimes it’s nice to train with someone else and just have them load the bar without you really knowing what’s on it. I’ve hit a few new numbers that way.

Ok, ok, I need to dump some video off the camera to make room on the hard drive and also get a new battery. I will put that on the list of 500 other things I have to do.

Ya, 455 will go, I think my lower back and core just need to get a little stronger and I also need to get my head on straight.

big squats Jack, nice work.

Big squatting and skinnier! Things are obviously going well over here.

I am still working on finding out how to get in the right mental space for squatting. I’m doing better with deads on that.

Nice work dude!

455 = mental! You definitely have it in ya.

Thanks folks, for stopping in.

5’s day, Bench, TM 270.

Bench: 45 x30, 95 x15, 135 x10, 185 x5, 205 x5, 230 x10.

Fischer’s Finisher: 215 x 5, 5, 5.

Wide Grip BBRows: 135 x10, 185 x20, 205 x10, 225 x10, 185 x 15.

DB Incline Bench: 60 x10, 70 x10, 80 x10, 90 x5.

Krock Rows: 100 x 35.

Prowler: +90 x 4 passes x 40 yds.

Notes: I decided to give Fischer’s finisher a shot before leaving the reservation. I liked it. I am hoping to get better results. I was gassed after the prowler and almost puked. I need to be more consistent and hit the prowler at least 3 times a week. I had to lay on the mat for about 15 mins. after I was done. Back to 4 passes rather than six. I could not have done six tonight.

Jack- just outstanding work you continue to do…Very impressive squats brother…and I love the dead numbers…way over my skis for sure…Well done.

Thats some nice pressing, 10 reps at 230 is not shabby at all.

Nice squatting and benching 230 for 10 is no easy feat.

“Fischer finishers” are a great idea. There ya go, it’s coined now.

Nice work.

Very nice work, Jack. 230x10 is great. Rows and Krocs look strong as well. Did the finisher take the wind out of your sail? Or was it about right?

Good balance of bench (230x10) and bb rows (225x10). Seems to be the best way to stay injury free. The prowler work sounds like a killer. What a great/sucky feeling it is to be lying on the ground gasping for breath hoping not to throw up.

To do 35 Kroc rows, I’d have to go down to an embarrassingly small dumbbell. Nice work.

I’ll share those little DBs with you, Kimba.

I somehow missed the 35 rep Kroc’s, good god man I’d have needed a doctor after that.

Thanks for stopping in, folks.

Squat day, 5’s TM 405.

45 x10, 135 x10, 225 x5, 275 x5, 315 x5, 345 x11 (Rep PR, I think)

Notes: Well, I missed a few days, and was almost too beat to train today. I told myself if I could hit 10 or more reps on the money set I was gonna pack up and go home. So I did.

Side notes: We have been looking for a travel trailer or a motor home to go camping in for a few months now–that is what my extended family does around here. I finally found a smoking deal on a TT I liked on Craigslist and ran down and bought it like an hour after it was posted. The guys phone rang six times while we were doing the deal, and two guys pulled in to look at it while I was there, about which time he figured out that he had miss priced it. It was about half off every similar one we had looked at. So we were pretty stoked about the deal.

I was planning on towing it with our Toyota Sequoia at least for a while, as the trailer loaded was within its tow rating–barely. But it just felt a little too white knuckleish for me. I have been looking at 3/4 ton trucks for a long time, so I knew the market and I was planning on getting an older one as a second car to use as an exclusive tow vehicle, but while looking at an old used one there was a shiny new 2010 Chevy Silverado LTZ that they wanted to move with a pile of factory money behind it, so I handed them the keys to my car and bought it. I even had CFO approval before I pulled the trigger. It was probably not the smartest thing to do, but, shit, this thing is awesome and I am convinced I got a great deal on it as well. And I love it. We went on our first overnight trip last night and my boy commented on how much he loves riding in “daddy’s monster truck.” Its been a hectic couple of days.

Jack- great lifting as always and man I admire your spending habits( thanks for propping up the economy)…sounds like great buys all around and more important sounds like you are using it and enjoying it! best of luck with both!
