Raw Power

Spock, those are my babies! Rick, I am one skinny son of a bitch. Hehe.

Squats, 1’s day, TM 325.

Squats: 45 x 10, 135 x 5, 185 x5, 225 x5, 275 x3, 315 x9 (supposed to be 308, but I rounded up a bit).

Fronts Squats: 135 x5, 185 x5, 205 x5, 225 x5.

Stairs: 20 flights.

Notes: I was happy with squats tonight, I wanted 8 reps, got 9, and all were pretty close to rock bottom. Front squats still suck but they felt better than last week.

Morning BW 223.2.

Morning BW 221.4

Blow out refeed, 3 giant pancakes dripping butter and suryp, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 1 giant omelette with everything.

Nice work Jack…on the squats and the weight. Looking good!

Thanks for checking on me, LS.

Deads Test Day.

Deads: 45 x15, 135 x10, 225 x5, 315 x1, 365 x1, 405 x1, 445 x1 @ BW222.0 (2.004 x BW / 5 min. weigh in).

Stairs: 20 Flights.

Notes: 445 felt heavy but came up fast. I wanted to hit 2x body weight but not kill myself because I have not pulled a max in a long time. I’m a ways off my best (503 lbs.) but things are moving along. I will test bench tomorrow.

Morning BW 220.6.

Stairs: 20 flights.

Notes: I thought 275 was going to go, but it didn’t. Ugg.

BW: 219.6

BW 217.6

you are dropping fast, good work

Thanks Pete, I’m looking forward to getting the cut over with so I can focus in strength.

Test day, Squats.

Squats: 45 x10, 135 x5, 185 x5, 225 x5, 275 x1, 315 x1, 365 x1, 385 x1.

Front Squats: 135 x1, 185 x1, 235 x1, 255 x1, 275 x1.

Stairs: 20 flights.

Notes: 385 was solid but shockingly heavy for 385. I have some work to do to get back to where I was.

jjack,

you may not have noticed but you are losing a shit ton of weight, but the weights you are lifting seem to be increasing, if I am not mistaken they call this the “Sweet Spot”, enjoy.

Refeed has a nice ring to it, I might have another baby (or maybe let my wife do that) just to use the name.

Good stuff man!

Lifting poundages go up while the body weight comes down? Nice job.

BW 216.8.

Thanks for the words of encouragement fellas!

I’ll Press later today or tomorrow, then we are going camping for Memorial weekend and I’m taking a planned deload. I plan on free skiing and hiking every day for conditioning, and I’m pretty excited. I haven’t skied in a while so we’ll see how it goes. I am pretty happy with the fat loss so far, I’m down from around 245-250 or so since early March, and this should help with the skiing. I figure 10 to 15 more lbs. and I can start focusing and strength instead of fat loss.

Press Test Day

Press: 45 x15, 95 x5, 135 x1, 155 x1, 175 x1, 185 x0.

Chins/Underhand/Deadhang: 9

Dips: 21

Stairs: 20 Flights

Notes: Underhand chins really hurt my elbows, I’d like to do these more, but I need to find a neutral grip.

Sounds like your doing great,keep up the good work.

Vacation summary:

Ran a 5k, 30 minutes, 28 seconds (the annual Coulee City Cow Pie Jog, and yes there were cow pies to avoid);
Walked dogs all over hell;
Waterskied my ass off;
Ate everything in sight.

Note: I was pretty pleased with the way my fat loss helped with skiing: everything was easier. I’d like to lose between 10 to 15 more lbs. and see how I feel walking around between 205 and 210.

Training starts again today or tomorrow, Morning BW 220.0.
