Wow I was unaware that me benching like a body builder for a workout would bring out such dramatic responses…why is that? Because I do an exercise slightly different than a powerlifter trains? I do pushups too, and military press…I dont do box squats, board presses, or rack pulls. As you follow my log you will see I dont train like a powerlifter at all. I just so happen to lift really heavy and decided to do a powerlifting meet. I also used to be a fitness competitor. I do exercises that I believe will help my body look the way I want and try to keep everything balanced. I think powerlifting is a good type of competition because its based on what ur body can do not what your body looks like. With that being said…fear not log followers PL-ing bench press will return.

Now, here was my deadlift workout today:

Deadlift: 135x10 185x8 225x4, (5sets)245x4

Overhead squat: 95lbs 5x5

Cardio@night: 20min stairmaster

Yup thats it. Nothing exciting, no records broken just enough to get my heart rate up& feel some weight in my hands. I just kept it around 70% of my max. I have my first conditioning day thursday so I will have fun deciding what I want to do. I am going to do some sprints for sure but I will take some suggestions…Mock if you will but this week I am still letting my self recover so the intensity isnt going to be super impressive. Holla!(lol my inner gangsta is coming out…)

Do you do anything special for flexibility in the OH squats? I’m terrible in that position.

I like lifting(or trying to lift) heavy without putting a label on it as well…
