I thought you had an hour time limit?

What, you don’t normally do 30 working sets in under an hour?

This got dumber than I anticipated. I’m sorry I responded.

I completely recognize how silly it is to spend time crafting a response lamenting time wasted on my previous response.

Once again, T Nation delivers the desired results.

i will give you one little piece of information that will blow your whole world.

The program…does…NOT…matter… as much as you think.
You can do full body, you can do bro split, you can do Conjugate, you can do 531… After 10 years, NO ONE will be able to tell which one you did.

you have to read this out in your head in a Stewies voice, making a loud H sound… cool wHHip…

Stop copying my workout, man.

I thought yours was lower rep/near max.

Or are you doing conjugate now?

M/W- speed & volume

T/Sat- max/near max low rep.

My bro knocked out a strawberry rhubarb pie last week right off of warm up.

Random New Poster: Hey guys, I am X feet tall and currently weigh far too little/way too much. I am super weak and I want you to rate my custom workout plan and give me suggestions.

Experienced T-Nation posters: Actually, here are 10 different programs that are proven to work, your program has issues, don’t do it.

Random New Poster: LOL I ain’t doing that.

Experienced T-Nation posters: Are you sure? This one here is made for exactly what you are looking for!

Random New Poster: Haha, no, that’s too hard, the fuck is wrong with you people.

Experienced T-Nation posters: Okay, do your thing, report back in a few weeks and let us know.

Random New Poster: You guys are all super mean.

Can’t wait for this guy to post the same fucking question again in 3 weeks, turn all the good ideas down, and tell us what he’s going to do instead. Again.

Every now and then, I genuinely think the best advice is no advice. This is one of those cases. When people are looking for affirmation over advice, they are not worth our time and effort.

If he ever gets seriously interested in learning, or actually working hard, or maybe getting out of his comfort zone, I will revisit my opinion of the OP.

honestly, if i would give an advice, based on my experience, knowing it works 100% now for me, to my younger self, i am sure i would have turned it down thinking : ā€œthat old fuck doesnt know shit, and he isnt even bigā€.
so i kind of get where he is comming from - its an age and/or experience thing… EVERYTHING i do now, thats working, i would have never done 10-15 years ago, i would tought that thats advice is shit…

there are many times i have writen some advice on this forum just to ctrl+a+del it all because i understand its probably pointless, haha…
in Pharma forum sometimes i just facepalm and dont even start writing anything anymore

You should post that video of you doing some god awful number of squats with some god awful weight. I remember it as 30 reps at 305, but I am probably wrong.

@Cyrrex and @flipcollar make some good points. When I first joined this site, I was getting to a point in the army where I didn’t have to be as cardio-intensive and starting to lift more. This site was actually mean. I was intimidated to ask questions (I mean, think about that; I wasn’t exactly 13 with no life experience). People would blow each other up over opinions and I remember a couple of guys settling it over a 500 lbs front squat or something like that.

Anyway, I really didn’t ask any questions and I just did what the bigger dudes said they were doing or whatever article CT/ Meadows posted and I got along fine. Same as when I was a teen and I’d just watch what the older, stronger guys were doing in the gym.

Fast forward a couple years, and I think this group genuinely tries to help, but a lot of folks question just to question. I don’t exactly long for the days where everything was a pissing contest, because I don’t think we could help some 30-year-old mother of 3 that way (which I have seen happen here and I love it). I do, however, need to find the maturity I see in folks like @T3hPwnisher, @RampantBadger and @flipcollar (and others) to know when responding is actually hurting the person.

I’m philosophical enough lately maybe we can change my screen name to TfPates.

Oh man. similar. I actually did one heavy set of 20 every week, and I was adding 10 lbs weekly. I can’t remember what I started at, it might have been 305. But the last week I did was 365. Initially, the idea was to keep bumping the weight up weekly until I failed. And I didn’t fail at 365, I got it done. But I quit after that, lol. I was so done with that. It was brutal. I still consider that set to be one of the most brutal sets I’ve ever done of anything.

I also deadlifted an axle bar weighing 485 for 14 reps in a minute in a competition a couple years ago. That was a big set.

marauder and swole! Man. That was crazy. Although I’m pretty sure it was a 400 front squat. Still insane though.

EDIT: For anyone reading this who wasn’t around for that, here’s what happened:

swole was a bodybuilder and maraudermeat was a powerlifter/heavy lifter in general. They got in an argument about the best way to hold a front squat, arms crossed or with a ā€˜clean’ grip. And it got so damn heated that one challenged the other to a rep-off at 405 lbs, and the loser was supposed to stop posting on TNation FOREVER. Swole, the bodybuilder was the cross-arm advocate, and he absolutely warned marauder that a) marauder had posted a lot of videos, so swole knew exactly what to expect, b) swole was a bodybuilder and used to repping everything, and c) swole was 100% sure he’d get more reps. Anyway, I believe Marauder posted himself doing 5, then swole posted 6, clearly having more reps in the tank, but I think he didn’t want to rub it in, so he did the minimum to win.

Marauder kept to his word and left. Swole ALSO decided to leave because he felt that the whole thing was so toxic, and nobody benefited from it. It was both a rough day in TNation history, as both guys contributed a lot of good stuff to the forums, but looking back, it’s also one of the most epic memories I have from here.I’d guess that was at least 6 or 7 years ago, maybe longer?

You’ve posted the thread before and I’ve read it. It’s pretty petty. I’m over a preference for hand placement.

I will agree that the site is nicer these days. I remember back some time ago it was a nerve racking place to post.
But perhaps I’ve stopped being nervous because I stopped being so weak and actually have some experience to fall back on when answering?
