How do you like this program? Isnt Thibs “Get Jacked… Fast” book a 12 week diet, workout, and supplement routine? Or am I mistaken? Im curious about this. thanks a lot Jo and keep it up

Yes, GJF is a 12-week training program with an accompanying diet and supplement regimen. I started doing it because I was planning out my training and noticed that the GJF diet was remarkably similar to that of RFL (except you eat more protein in GJF for good reason… more training).

(Side note: I purchased GJF last summer, which is why I had it readily available.)

On a very high level, the diet in GJF is very restrictive early on but incorporates carbs over time (primarily around the workouts). I haven’t been following the program exactly (forgoing intervals but also forgoing the extra protein and carbs), but overall, it’s pretty solid. The training program is an upper/lower split over 4 days (and sometimes 5) with common movements but complicated techniques/rep schemes (it’s CT… what else can you expect?).

As far as planning out your diet, it’s very RFLesque. You’re given an amount to eat, but you get to choose what you eat. Very simple.

The supplementation is also nice in that CT lists 3 options depending on how much money you want to spend. I’m not following any of them really since my caloric intake is pretty restricted, but it’s good food for thought (although with all this talk on nutrient timing and Anaconda and FINiBars, who knows if what he prescribes in the book is what he still thinks is ideal for fat loss).

i lost about 10 pounds overall… still sitting there … so pretty happy i still have fat to lose, but after 4kids seems a little more difficult LOL!!!

i enjoy this diet and still incorporate all my favorite Biotest products
I am addicted to the Metabolic Drive BEST protein shakes i have ever had!
so im ready to roll onto round two

What are you guys doing post-diet?

I have 10 days left on the diet (last day is March 7th). I’ll spend the following week getting up to maintenance, and the week after I’ll be enjoying spring break in Florida (so I don’t know how my diet will look… hopefully not terribly destructive).

Afterwards, I was thinking about giving the Ultimate Diet 2.0 a shot, but it seems fairly complicated. I guess having another go at RFL wouldn’t be too bad… it has been remarkably easy for me.

well right now im not really doing too much as far as a “diet” goes. I’m eating a lot of protein and veggies while trying to stay away from too many rice/pasta dishes. Just kind of doing a maintenance type diet right now… not counting any macros or anything. I’m trying to decide on what kind of training program I wanna do. Im thinking of possibly starting 531 soon.

.greg.

i have been doing the same as greg… but hey thats my normal everyday food

spring break- ummmm wow what a challenge!!

I’ve been upping my “Cardio” lately and have been running more lately. I run a 5k (fasted cardio) 3-4 days a week but will be bumping that up soon. Im not sure if I’m going to up my distances to 4 miles or my frequency? We’ll see… I’m going to run in the warrior dash. it comes to Southern California in 6 weeks which should be a blast.

.greg.

Still doing RFL, started last Wednesday, so on day 10. So far I am considerably leaner, not counting anything and feel relatively normal now. I had my first batch of carbs today post lifting workout (cup of oats and an apple) and still have BJJ tonight for an hour.

Just gonna keep at it, roughly 30g of protein per meal spaced out over 5-6 meals a day and veggies. Supplementing with Cal/Mag/Zinc, EFAs, Vit D, and a multi. Weighed myself Wednesday and was down only 2lbs. on the scale but I’m honestly not worried about that because my abs and lower stomach fat are noticeably leaner.

Oddly, pull-ups and dips are way easier and I’m lifting heavier without any problems. The only thing I miss are craft beers!

Refeed day:

2 slices Ezekiel bread
2 tbsp blueberry jam
1 serving Surge Recovery
2 scoops Metabolic Drive
1 cup skim milk
1 cup (dry) whole wheat penne rigate
1 cup pasta sauce
0.25 cup fat-free cheddar cheese
Einstein’s honey whole wheat bagel
Einstein’s cranberry bagel
Einstein’s cinnamon raisin
12 bottles of Blue Moon

~435 g CHO

I’ve had more bagels during this diet than I’ve had in the 23 years I’ve been on this earth. But I dig it.

Curious if most of the people doing this are taking the EC stack or not ?

Kinda on the fence about it due to the whole risk vs reward of the stuff. And it sounds like a pain to get.

Curious how many people who are on this and have done so without EC stack ?

The EC stack is the only part im unsure about since its got that whole risk vs reward thing going on. Ephedrine is legal to buy over the counter right ? I know much of his book was written a few years ago, so the laws may have changed a bit since then.

Take it for what it’s worth, but the EC stack helped me overcome a plateau I was on. It could have easily been a coincidence, but I was stuck on 185 lbs, began to take the EC stack, and went under the mark in 1-2 days (and I continue to drop). Not only that, my energy levels have been higher, thanks to the caffeine.

What are the risks that you’re thinking of? As with all stimulants, you need to start light and work your way up to the recommended dosage.

Ephedrine is still readily available over the counter at most pharmacies as stated in the book. I just bought some last week.

However, if you’re still worried, you can always get a yohimbine-based product like HOT-ROX. Considerably more expensive with more side effects, but it works.

day one round 2 :)!!

i dont take the ec stack but im just kinda iffey about it?
keep looking into it but i seem to do fine with just the HOT-ROX

Ah well the book version I have was printed in 05, thought laws might of changed since. Tried goggling legality of ephedrine and got all kinds of crap about the patriot act and what not. Found it kinda confusing.

So if you walk into any pharmacy you could just ask the pharmacist for it without a script or anything ? Curious how much does it go for ? And do you have to tell them how many/what size doses or something ?

Going off the recommendations in the book was gonna start with 10mg 1x a day and work my way up. Although I think I read the standard dose was like 8mg or something right ?

Sorry about all the questions, used to ordering most of my stuff online lol.

Good luck lady. Seeing that this is round two for you, I’m sure you’ll have no problems with it (unless it’s like my 2nd attempt at the V-Diet).

Also, make sure to take your HOT-ROX on an empty stomach if you haven’t been, since the presence of insulin blocks the effects of yohimbe (according to Lyle).

Can’t remember how much I paid, but it was considerably cheaper than the $50 that HOT-ROX costs (<$20 for sure).

And yes you can just go into any pharmacy and ask for it since it’s OTC. You’ll be required to sign something saying you won’t abuse it, but that’s just about all it takes. The strength is the same regardless of package size, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Standard EC stack recommendation is 20/200, and each pill has 25 mg of ephedrine HCl in it.

I didn’t go with an EC stack, just drink black coffee and diet sodas during the day if I need a pep. Some days are harder than others but other than that I survive. This is day 13 and I am used to everything now but I definitely notice always being cold and hopefully my metabolism isn’t shutting down. Definitely going to do a proper refeed within the next few days. GL everyone!

Here in Canada, it is always on the shelf behind the cash counter. I have seen it at GNC, Popeye’s and even regular health + nutrition stores. IIRC 8mg/tablet.

Definitely not illegal to purchase. If you are in a corner, ask for Bronkaid or go for Synephrine as a substitute.

IMO, useful as appetite suppressant rather than fat burning. Take caffeine for fat burning.

rocking day 2!!! and coffee is my friend

im so ready for spring and its snowing here in the deep south!! LOL

day 3 and headache ahhhh

Aspirin is your friend

I’ve also noticed that I’ve been getting headaches more frequently while on the diet. I don’t know if it’s because I’m consuming so much caffeine (600 mg in pills + coffee + caffeinated drinks) or if it’s something else, but it all goes away after popping in some Tylenol/Advil.

Done in 4 days…

Keep up the electrolytes too, sodium, potassium, magnesium.
