Haha you know motherfuckers are underground when they’re selling their own cd’s outside of the concert!
I saw him live with the godz, damn good show aside from the violence in the crowd.

Yeah I’m a Louis Logic fan, funny shit right there.

Well, perhaps it could move faster if you weren’t clogging the drain.

That’s why I use “Racist-fuck-flush”. It knocks the big turds right down the pipe! Buy it today.

We all know you record little songs PX. Just because someone doesn’t like rap doesn’t make them a skinhead. Calm down.

I am not a music conoisseur of any kind, but I love old school rap. Gangster rap, and heavy metal I would classify as my favorite music. Angry music for the most part  Well, I guess I am outgrowing gangster rap. All the cussing hurts my ears now.

this was the first rap song I ever heard, sugar hill…loved it back then:

I don’t really care for any new music I hear on the radio, but I figured I am just getting old and set in my ways :)Then again when I was into music heavier, nothing was on the radio I liked back then either. They used to play Roxanne Roxanne all the time, and that was decent, but for the most part I heard little back then I really like as well. Wow, I guess the radio sucks.

Am I the only one that used to listen to gangster rap? NWA, Ice Cube, ice T, ghetto boys, and so on? I used to think strait outta compton was the best rap album ever made. Ice Cube went on to make some great albums on his own. Gotta say it was a good day is such a kick butt chill song:

I dont have my music collection together at all, so I listen to news radio in the car. I just dislike all types of music I hear on the radio. And they play the same shit over and over. Although i stumble across some stuff that I like, that gnarls Barkley song about crazy is pretty cool.

I could probably find more modern music I like, but alas, I am too lazy to put the effort inot it.

Thanks for the links and walk down memory lane.

Can someone tell me what that song was, I believe it was erk B and Rakim, it went

I came through the door
I said it before
never let the mic magnetize me no more

I cant remember it.

Exactly. Just…calm…down. We don’t need this racism accusing crap.

Dude, if you think my comment was based on this thread, you aren’t paying attention. Some of us don’t lose all memory of posts made on the same day in different threads by the same person. Maybe you should do more research…and worry less about what I write.

I judge music by how I find out about it. If Carson Daily, or anyone from VH1(sorry I don’t know the names), or any of the three judges from American Idol, EVER speak the name of a group/artist… I don’t fucking listen to them.

That’s freakin’ retarded. How about you learn to make you’re own decisions about what you like.

Just because something is popular doesn’t always mean it is poor quality. You’re probably the kind of person that likes certain music groups, or products, when they are new and/or unknown and once they become popular or trendy you dislike them. You’re worse than the sheep that like everything that’s popular, because you dislike everything popular for no other reason than it’s popular. You’re still a sheep.

I hate country music.

Some friends of mine were giving me a hard time one day cause I said country music copies rap because of the rhyming schemes they use since rap becamse popular. Not that I think that, we were just giving each other crap.

Anyhow, one of my friends sent me a bunch of country/rap musicto torture me. this is one of those such songs. listen to this donkey hick rap country style.

“and I walk into the room passing out $100 dollar bills and it spills and it chills like the horns on my el dorado grill”

I think it’s terrible and hilarious. “Hilarible” if you will. I play it at work just to torture people and laugh. I have another one I am looking for of the same nature.

Enter the 36 chambers was one of thee first CD’s I ever bought. Still listen to it!

I must have listened to that and Lethal Injection countless times growing up.

I am with whoever said Nas is a poet. I can listen to Illmatic all day.

As for rap sucking now, I just got Blue Carpet treatment and Doctors Advocate. I like Blue Carpet treatment better, but both are ok.

Those who act as if NO rap at all is decent today obviously don’t listen to the genre and are simply repeating what they’ve heard elsewhere.

I agree. The mainstream guys are good, but just get overplayed so quickly. Note that I don’t include Chamillionare in anything related to music.

JayZ is one of the best ever, obviously Nas as you mentioned and there might not be a rapper in history as diverse an Eminem. This doesn’t even mention the underground guys- a lot of people know them, but Cunninlynguists are pretty sick and I’ve never heard them on the radio.

Still though, nothing will ever beat the RZA, the GZA, Old Dirty Bastard, Inspecta Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killa and…
Mental note: As a white person, never mention Rap Music on a public forum. I am white and therefore cannot have an opinion and / or am a racist.

Jesus Christ. This and the “Kramer…” thread are about fucking ridiculous already.

Imagine I started a thread saying, “Modern powerlifting is crap.” I rant on and on about how bad modern powerlifting is.

Then during the discussion you come to learn that I don’t know what a monolift is. People might get a little suspicious about my motivations for starting the thread, right? Maybe I hate powerliftings because my wife left me for one. Who knows. What you do know if I know shit about modern powerlifting.

After all, anyone discussing modern powerlifting would know what a monolift was. Period.

The OP could not name 5 modern rappers (other than the ones who get radio play). He does not know the genre. Thus, it’s obvious he had ulterior motives for starting this thread.

Maybe it’s because he’s racist. (In light of his others posts, I think it is.) In any event, he’s clearly clueless about rap, and has no business discussing the genre.

Why then did he start this thread?

That’s really scary, it’s like a GM commerical gone bad, or a bad outtake of the Monday Night Football intro song.

Whatever the reason, no matter for my immediate purposes. I have no affiliation to the OP, nor was I involved in these discussions up to this point (other than as an observer). Either way, the racist card is being played a lot lately. A lot period. Just tired of it.

Probably shouldn’t have even chimed in on this, I’m sure. Just an observation.

Just because someone does not agree with your point of view Professor… does not make them racist. This dude made valid arguments on the other thread (Kramer), without writing all sorts of racist shit.

In fact. He only made 4 posts on that tread:

 1. Comment about crime rates of Hispanics and Blacks being higher.

 2. Link to an article discussing Welfare expenditures of Ethnic Groups.

 3. Comment about how he used to be jumped by Black Guys when he was younger. Pointing out how the black dudes he was jumped by were also racist. Makes quip about tax dollars feeding them. Assumes they are on welfare.

 4. Comment about how Al Sharpton smells free money. Siding with heckler’s lawyers.

I wonder if I am racist since I do not agree with the Professor? Is this comment racist?

I wonder…

Yup. Only black people can have an opinion about rap. If anybody else says anything. We are all FUCKING RACISTS.

Well you know what? In my opinion. ITS TRUE. Most rap music is complete shit. But you know, there are still some high quality songs. They’re just harder to find because the music has become so mainstream.

The OP is venting about the other thread. (Kramer).

You are right. THIS specific poster has no right to talk trash about this. As he only listens teoRap on the radio (if any).

And we all knew that pretty much anything on the radio is complete shit. Thus rendering his argument completely useless.

For the same reason that people start threads saying that they don’t “understand” bodybuilding. Anyways, I’m pretty sure everyone who can’t name the nine generals shouldn’t be allowed to post in this thread.
