Rant - Looking at Idiots in the Gym

I was in the gym today, and usually i ignore people around me. There’s always people with terrible form and people just doing stupid things! But today there was a guy who brought a beginner to the gym and was showing him waht to do and it was so annoying to watch. The man didn’t have a clue for a start and was even a worse teacher! I had to move to the other side of the gym!

I was just wondering do yu guys see this sort of thing often and have you ever spoke up?

Don’t we have like 5 of these?
Why are people so concerned with what everybody else is doing? You “had” to move across the gym? Seriously? The gym isn’t serious business for everybody.

On that note, I saw a trainer at the gym doing a dumbbell curl/shoulder press while riding an exercise bike and reading. It was fucking intense.

if you want to complain, there is already a thread in progress by dirty gerdy.

or how about this, instead of thinking how stupid they are during your workout, lavish some of your “abundant” knowledge upon them, to facilitate their progress and help them avoid injury

Either he is a complete idiot, or he is my hero. I should have seen it myself to be able to decide.

she
Really hot though, so maybe she knows something we all don’t…

well now my thread isn’t for complaining…just making fun. lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Idk man honestly if I see somebody offering really bad advice I will jump in and not shoot them down but offer my advice.

Standard Donkey is right. People who are willing to listen and learn should be treated kindly. I am always there to offer my advice and opinion to those who want to learn…isn’t that right Artem? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s the people like the trainers who complete their 24 hr fitness degree and think they know it all…if you try and offer them advice they tell you ‘oh im a trainer’ lol These people get made fun of.

It passes time to bitch and whine sometimes…how do you think congress makes it through the day lol jk :stuck_out_tongue:

DG

Big deal, it happens all over the place, if they are doing something that they could really hurt themselves then you should say something. But if they are just getting bad advice, like I said, big deal, at least they aren’t sitting there lazy ass at home every chance they get.

do you know what i wonder about?

sometimes i wonder if anyone else takes seemingly regular recreations as serious as us. like, what if theres super-serious people about food shopping and they see you loading your carriage like wow, what a fucking douchebag look how hes loading his carriage and then they go home and write about it on CarriageWarrior.com and everyone is like OMG they do that at MY supermarket too.

whatever, i see the same dumb shit all the time, some of it is just rediculous but i figure im not them i know what i want and im going to do what i have to to get it. fuck them, im looking out for me.

Exactly. More time focused on self-improvement, less time worrying about what other people are doing. As othe posters have mentioned there are already numerous other threads discussing this.

Kinda makes you think eh?

Im the most annoying shopper ever.

I pick things up, put them back, pick them up agian, etc, etc, etc.

Im really OCD about food and I like to weigh the cost per unit against quality and the ingredients etc.

I have my “usual” stuff that I have always bought and am pretty comfrotable with.

But when I try something new it takes a good 20 minutes of analyzing everything before I pick one.

Lol - it’s a parallel universe! Great idea for a Twilight Zone episode.

If somebody was committed to exercise and diet, how do you think they’d go about pretending to be one of the regular people?

Invisible gut syndrome? Maybe taking a sofa to the gym to watch the TV and drinking protein shakes out of a beer can?

fuck them , when you go into the gym focus, then get out stop looking around

omfg, DEAD

I train at my college’s recreation center and all i see are frat boys benching and doin curls everyday

nothin else, but bench press, barbell curls in the squat rack, and roids, they all look fiercely ridiculous

i try to help them out because i am a trainer but they just dont listen, like when i tell them about compound lifts like deadlifting, squatting, cleans, they say theyre not training for a sport so its pointless, but they all say they wanna be huge

see these are the types of people that should be made fun of. lol

I had a guy come into my store yesterday and ask for a specific fat burner. I explained why it’s a crap product (kinder words) then explained he should get on a good diet (gave an example) talked about protein/bcaa/glutamine and then one of the body cleanse products because they seem to work wonders for people who want a ‘kickstart’ in losing weight. I then talked about the other fat burners. I even told him that protein and a good diet would be best to start out on and then to move on to some other supps before buying these fat burners.

he mocked me kinda laughing and said “aaaaaannnnddd your just trying to sell more stuff”

I just said “whatever dood have fun with your product” then I went in the back. That guy can just go suck a fat one.

So I make fun of people like this…the ignorant that refuse help. The definition of insanity is ‘doing the same things over and over in hopes to get different results’
