Sorry - I saw the length and thought, I’ll just take his word that he ate it, haha. I remember when it was in your log though, and was impressed when I saw the details.
No worries dude. Yeah: no one takes it on as a full burger: you just pose with it like one for a photo. The actual competitive eaters will basically smash it into small balls and swallow as much as they can without chewing it. It’s quite a scene. I went in with no plan to succeed, so I just ate all the parts I liked first. Ate all the patties and cheese, then all the eggs, then all the bacon, then the bun with the peanut butter, and suddenly I had 25 minutes left and all that was standing between me and victory was a plateful of onions and some fries
…those onions REALLY sucked, haha. If I ever do it again, I think I’ll make an onion sandwich with the bun to prevent that from happening.
I watched that whole video, I did.
You could be a contender.
Appreciate that feedback man. I definitely have the capacity and appetite, but man, the after just about retired me. I don’t know how the pros handle it.
Next time, I’m hiring an Uber to drive me home, because I had to drive 20 MPH below the speed limit and avoid EVERY bump on the way home.

Why is there peanut butter on it at all?
Do you want the legit answer or the sneaky answer?
If still counts if you deconstruct it?
Now I’m tempted to make myself this meal, minus the jalapenos and the peanut butter, and see if I can pass it off as being For Science.
*Actually, I might skip the lettuce too, that would probably add too many calories for it to fit into my macros.
I actually remember when this came up on my YouTube feed and watched from beginning to end. It was awesome.
I think the only two people I know who could replicate that feat are Stu and Arash.
Dude, if you can somehow Dagwood that burger, you deserve more than a freemeal and a shirt.
Ands it’s like a jar of peanut butter: skipping that part wouldn’t even be close, haha. It tends to be the sticking point for most.
@BrickHead appreciate it brother! Its funny the crossover between lifting and big eating
Welcome. How long did it take for the fullness to subside?
Speaking of right and left and radical positions, does anyone here have friends or close family members with clashing political persuasions or other views? Has this affected your relationships with them? How have you handled it?
I have several close friends, one of whom I befriended at eight years old, and remained especially close to for all these years. Let’s just say he knows nearly all there is to know about me. But our views are very different. I believe we have not let this affect our friendship at all because of an unstated understanding that we should not go deep into such territory, and on the occasion we have lightly covered it, one of us gently eases out of it or emotionally detaches from the subject matter while providing brief commentary. We probably both think, “Alright, that’s just who he is. It’s not worth hurting a friendship over this.”
Aside from friends, I’ve had people with opposing views who have been good to me, coworkers included. When some have inquired about my stances on hot topics, who I’ll be voting for, as an example (I don’t vote), I’ve grinned at them and answered, “I don’t think you want to know”.
About 24 hours. It was digesting the big bolus of onions that was the worst of it
Arguing on the internet =/= in person… but I went through more riots than I can remember, and leftists / liberals are UNHINGED whack jobs. Of course, they knew we couldn’t do anything.
My one neighbor really wants to know who I’ll be voting for.
Therefore, I will not tell him. It is now a game of obfuscation.
I’m Sicilian so they aren’t mutually exclusive.
My mother was an organizing member of The Villagers (FL) for Trump and was on national news twice. She’s probably responsible for shifting The Villages from 79.9 percent Trump to 80.0 percent for Trump. She took this activity on in retirement after my father had passed away. I always viewed my mom’s activism as a productive hobby for her that contributed to her overall wellbeing in retirement.
My sister-in-law is a Marxist activist in W. Roxbury, MA who sincerely believed that my mother was supporting a hateful, racist worldview and treated her accordingly. She sends her daughters to private school, which I am grateful for, while also attending local public school board meetings and consistently advocating for far-left policies that she chooses not to subject her daughters to for some reason.
For many years I was able to run between the raindrops and not take the bait whenever my SIL spouted off something I disagreed with, giving her the impression that I agreed with her and keeping the problems that arise from disagreement at bay. That only winning strategy for me was to refuse to play the game.
When she made me tell my stepson that he was no longer welcome among them because he was unvaccinated, I blew up and let her know what I think, especially since they wouldn’t tell him themselves. It was extremely upsetting to him to hear that family who have been an important part of his life for his entire life no longer wanted him in their life.
They haven’t been to my part of Maine to visit since, and likely never will. A 2.5 hour drive may as well be a 2.5 day drive
At this point I consider my brother and his family to be members of a cult with a faith-based belief about the world around us. These beliefs, unrooted in fact, have seemingly resulted in them concluding that most of my family are immoral people with whom contact should be limited.
It sucks, and there’s no way I see to make it not suck at this point.
I avoid telling most people interested in the subject that I do not vote because they usually cannot consider my reasons for not voting, including my opposition to voting for “the lesser of two evils” or “the less bad”. Usually I’m told, “You cannot complain if you don’t vote.” They’re polite, and I do understand their feelings and believe they mean well. I just usually choose not to get into it.
That is very impressive.
I get it. I’ve never had it come to that with people in my life despite our differences.
It’s an excellent compliment to beef and eggs.
