Race to 1,000lb Squat

Pretty much squatting what I total.

I don’t mean any disrespect, but is that depth? I squat a SHIT load lighter, but I can go pretty deep too. Plus I don’t know anyone that really ‘squats’ so I don’t have anyone to compare it to - to you that is.
Few things

 1. training lift that he obviously felt was not goin well

 2. two white lights is deep enough

 3. deep enough means your hip joint dips right below your knee, no more depth needed

DF pretty much hit this on the head. i’m just getting back in gear and trying to get use to heavier weights. i also do not train deep, i see no need for it, even raw i train about an 1" above parallel and i’ve hit over a 700 raw squat in a full meet. two whites is good enough, going super deep doesn’t get you an imaginary 4th white light. would it pass in a meet? prolly not, but it’s close enough for training. here is a screen shot and to compare is another screen shot where i did 580/160lbs chains x10 in briefs to depth.

580/160

Well, I am in the NASTY group at the elitefts seminar. I signed up basically just to go up there and squat in full gear while a bunch of people who are stronger and smarter me tell me how bad I suck. I might hit 1,000 while I am there. haha.
haha sounds awesome. keep us posted on how it goes. you looking forward to using a mono?

thanks! did you like the near face explosion? lol

As my coach says - “In by a mm is the same as your ball bag touching the floor, you dont get style points.”

I’m sitting around a 730 meet squat at the moment. I missed my opener so had to adjust and retake it on a second. Would have made my projected third of 770 too big a jump. That was suit only, I grew out of my briefs and suit combo so just went Ace suit and wraps. Straps semi loose. Got full Jack gear on the way, if Metal ever get it shipped!

I have a huge issue holding air when the weights get heavy, although it clicked some at the meet (even though I burst all the blood vessels in my eyes) - not sure where the issue is. Could be abs, could be upper back. Anyone else had this?

Cheers for the response.

Damn thats a wide stance too. Im really not used to seeing that. I’ve been to one meet and am essentially the only person that squats at my gym. Good to see a few different styles.

Scoops, you doing the July meet in Dubuque?

did some speed work type stuff. worked up to a couple sets of doubles with the safety bar. 530 plus about 300lbs in chains and bands at top. just in briefs. went pretty well, nothing worth video.

thanks strengthdawg

did some straight bar with the bands and chains combo. worked up to 735 plus about 300lbs at top for a couple reps tonight. second rep sucked lol, it felt like my brain puked.
