R.I.P Guru

A legend has died.

Doesn’t look like he’ll be resting in peace though…

Code of the Streets

Heard about this too. R.I.P Guru.

The story surrounding his life right before he died is mad shady. It looked like he was gonna be alright at least health-wise too.

one of Boston’s finest … yes he was from Boston

RIP

guess he was pissed at premier, damn…

RIP

Damn…

RIP

RIP
Another memory from my youth laid to rest

I dunno man, I wouldn’t trust that letter. Guru’s relationship with this Solar guy was kind of suspect from what people know. I wouldn’t be shocked if “Solar” wrote that thing.

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading it. But… I mean how would you ever know?

I mean he named the dude his health proxy… That is sort of a sign they were tight.

yea, you also have to acknowledge, historically. rappers don’t make the best decisions

True, I feel like I’m at the hair salon over here… I’m such a gossip queen

Does anyone know what happened between him and Premier?

I will now pay homage to guru by bumping my favorite tracks in no particular order

Step into the arena
Who’s gonna take the weight
Just to get a rep
BYS
Dwyck
X to the next

And while guru may have been from boston and most fans of the era know he repped bklyn to the fullest

This makes me sad.

RIP Guru

Fixed, and yeah I guess there’s no telling for sure.

It’s just weird that dude mentioned his son for one line [where he said Solar’s family should look after him and not Guru’s own family], and then spent what felt like most of the letter talking about Solar, or projects with Solar.

There were rumors that those two were together, but then it didn’t seem that simple since Primo was even talking about how weird Guru’s relationship was with Solar, and how he couldn’t even get in touch with Guru anymore.

God… why is it all the good MCs have to die?

RIP Guru

that’s what happens when you’ve given up on hip-hop …

How is it?

I never actually listened to the whole thing, just whatever songs leaked on the hip hop blogs beforehand [I’m not a big Rakim fan, just have 2 of his LP’s with Eric B.]. I don’t remember much, but I’m guessing they weren’t good since I don’t remember any songs. The reviews for the album were pretty bad, too.

RIP Guru

been a fan of Gangstarr since i was a kid, what a loss for hiphop

that’s what happens when you spend 10 years trying to make an album … oh well, at least Ghostface still puts an album out every year that’s usually pretty good … I’m waiting for him to collaborate more with DOOM
