R-ALA

In laymans terms what the hell does R-ALA do? Does it raise insulin or mimick it? How do most of you use R-ALA?

Also has anyone tried any of the topical Yohimbines?

Not to hijack the thread, but where do people get there r-ala. I went to GNC but couldn’t find any.

Laymans Terms: r-ALA boots Carbs out of the bloodstream and into the muscle. (ie, increasing glycogen stores)

Most people here take it with any Protein+Carb meal, or any large cheat meals that involve a lot of carb consumption.

There is a bit of an issue regarding r-ALA use in a postworkout shake. Some feel it will increase the amount of glycogen taken in during the postworkout period, others feel it should not be taken because it might blunt the insulin response that is so desired in the postworkout window.

Regarding topical yohimbine: I don’t know too much about it. Poliquin is selling some now, so it either a) works or b) he’s trying to make a buck off of us.

Ace, you’re best bet is to get it online. 1fast400 seems to be the cheapest, but I think they’re out-of-stock right now. I just ordered some from Netrition.com last week, though, and it’s almost as good a deal as 1fast.
