I’m using Leangains for the standard gain muscle, drop fat. I’m probably around 24% BF. I know Martin recommends avoiding cardio for fat loss, and sticking to a tight diet and heavy lifting. Unfortunately, my gym is about two miles away, and I have no transportation other than my two feet.
I was planning to jog there and back (if I’m not too worn out from lifting), basically to save time. Walking takes me like 40 minutes, jogging more like 20. I was thinking I could just treat that jog as a 20 minute warmup and a 20 minute cool down. I’m not sure if that’s too much cardio for the Leangains program, though.
I was hoping to hear your opinions. Do you think that’s too much cardio for the Leangains program, or should it be fine?
Not exactly sure what the lean gains program is but, I do know guys running more than that and at a faster pace and making pretty decent gains none the less. You just need to wat h your recovery and calories. If you feel your losing weight to fast up your calories pretty much only way to battle it. Also you could Alt maybe walk there on leg days and jog as cooldown/ finisher for your legs this would be awesome lower body conditioning and jog there and walk back on upper body days.

You’ll be fine. And jogging at 6mph isn’t exactly hardcore long duration atrophy causing cardio If it results in catastrophic muscle loss (which really doubt), you’ll notice soon enough.
